" Church Is Not Your Problem " USA Based Nigerian Scholar, Ifeanyi Eze Reminds Nigerians.
In his words, "In Texas, it costs about $30,000 to rent a stadium for one day. Famous Nigerian artistes fill those stadium across the world… and make a lot of money from their craft.
Last month, Apostle Joshua Selman was in Dallas-Fort Worth and filled a stadium for 2 days.
Attendance was FREE. You only need to have ticket for effective management and govt policies.
In August 31, Pastor Jerry Eze will be in Houston. Yesterday, I tried getting the ticket but it’s already finished. A large stadium in the heart of a busy city completely packed to hear a Nigerian speak.
Whatever Nigerian Music and Evangelism industries are doing to attract such global audience is quite remarkable. Even shopping malls here play afrobeats on repeat. American Christians stream Selman’s messages gwo gwo.
It’s easy to criticize the progress of these two industries, but extremely difficult to replicate at scale. The world does not gather to watch a mediocre.
Only a careless thinker would feel the church is hindering progress in any aspect of Nigerian society. The church is NOT responsible for our failures in the Olympics, empty Chemistry labs in our schools, dysfunctional courier service…
I look forward to when a Nigerian professor will fill a stadium in London, Brazil or Sydney just to deliver a lecture. I anticipate seeing “made in Nigeria” brands attracting global patronage.
Don’t just sit around criticizing, go out and become excellent in your own field. Go and create that change you desire to see. It’s possible for every sector to flourish."
GOVERMENT OFFICIALS DESPERATELY NEED TO HEAR AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL!
"Don’t be surprised if you see a poor person being oppressed by the powerful and if justice is being miscarried throughout the land. For every official is under orders from higher up, and matters of justice get lost in red tape and bureaucracy. Even the king milks the land for his own profit! Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!"
Ecclesiastes 5:8-11 NLT
"Preaching the gospel in power to the high and the mighty around us remains the solution to the ills in our societies and until then, injustice will never stop in the land.
Therefore, our times are crying for ministers with the anointings of Prophets Nathan and John the Baptist who spoke truth to power in their days.
Standing before King David, Nathan said, "Thou art the man" (2 Sam. 12:7) and standing before Herod, "...John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her" (Matt. 14:4, KJV)!
Those men did not mind to put their lives on the line for the truth's sake!
But today, are we ready?
DON’T MESS UP WITH THE HOLINESS OF GOD OR YOU WILL DIE - LEV. 10:1-3,6-7
"And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
…
"And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons, “Do not let the hair of your heads hang loose, and do not tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning that the LORD has kindled. And do not go outside the entrance of the tent of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you.” And they did according to the word of Moses" - Leviticus 10:1-3, 6-7, KJV.
Aaron’s two eldest sons, driven by whatever motive, offered ‘strange fire’ before the Lord and were struck dead immediately by fire! What a great lesson learned in the most horrible way ever!
For Moses, Aaron, his surviving sons, the Levites and the entire nation, it was an unforgettable day - perhaps the saddest in the life of Aaron. The gravity of the holiness of God had never been so understood or appreciated until this event happened. How awesome this holiness was that Aaron and his surviving sons were forbidden from mourning their loss or stepping out of the sanctuary for a season, else, they too would die! Imagine flogging a child and commanding him not to cry!
Similar scenarios played out in Acts 5:1-11 and 12:20-23 where Ananias and Sapphira his wife dropped dead on the spot while King Herod was eaten up by worms in the presence of those who, some two minutes earlier, praised him to the highest heavens.
Today, Christians, especially ministers of the gospel, ‘offer up to God strange fires’ on supposedly holy altars and still go, as it were, scott free! The atrocities being perpetrated by such so called Church leaders without any apparent and immediate consequence are just unimaginable! Their ‘anti-Christ’ behaviors seem to lend credence to the heresies of Marcion of Sinope who taught that the God of the New Testament was different from the God of the Old Testament.
These modern followers of Marcion argue that "GRACE" covers them regardless of the abominations they commit. It’s like their version of the Holy Bible does not seem to have Romans 6:1 which says, ‘Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?’(NLT).
Therefore, as many of us, servants of the Most High God, as may have been offering up ‘strange fires’ unto God, should please, stop messing up with the holiness and glory of God, otherwise, death is inevitable!
This Season of Resurrection and especially today, which is Good Friday, affords everyone in this category a wonderful opportunity for repentance as tomorrow might be too late. God does not want you to continue in sin but wants you to repent and come back to him.
As Christians, we have to live in the perspective of the holiness and the glory of God, giving thanks to Him for His unspeakable gift’ - for Good Friday. Otherwise, ask Aaron!

DON’T DO IT ALONE, PLEASE, SEEK HELP! - ACTS 11:22-26
1. When Barnabas got to Antioch, he saw ‘…the grace of God…’ in the people’s lives and was glad. He never criticized anything he might not have agreed with but expressed gladness.
2. He exhorted them to cleave to the Lord with purpose of heart…! This statement, in my opinion, is pregnant with meaning! Barnabas must have seen, in the people’s spiritual lives, some rough edges that needed to be smoothened!
3. Consequently, he went to Tarsus to bring Paul into the picture. Again, in my opinion, this suggests an acknowledgement of the need for much work to be done which Barnabas probably had judged himself incapable of doing alone!
4. Meanwhile, after one year of combined ministry with Paul, the public perception of believers in Christ changed drastically - they gave them a new name - Christians.
Do you have a strong feeling that an assignment before you is too much for you alone to do? Please, seek help from friends.
FULLY DETERMINED AND COMMITED
"Ezra had devoted his life to studying the Law of the Lord, to practicing it, and to teaching all its laws and regulations to the people of Israel."
Ezra 7:10 GNT
There were many priests and scribes of the Jewish stock in Babylonian captivity during the reign of Artaxerxes but Ezra was outstanding so much that even the King took notice!
His success was attributed to three factors:
1. A heart that was fully determined and prepared to make the study and practice of the law of God a priority (2 Timothy 2:15 cf. 1 Timothy 4:12-16).
2. A heart that was determined to practice what the Law teaches (James 1:22-25)
3. A heart that was fully determined to pass on to others what he had learned (2 Timothy 2:2)!
Little wonder then that he was remarkably outstanding amongst his fellow priests and scribes.
As we place a high premium on the study, the practice and the teaching of the word of God, we too can expect our Lord Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever, to demonstrate his grace upon our lives in much greater dimensions than he did in Ezra's life.
