The National Council of AAUA Alumni Association held its first physical meeting of 2026 in Ado Ekiti at the weekend.
Below is the Communique from the meeting.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL MEETING OF AAUA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION HELD IN ADO EKITI ON SATURDAY 2ND MAY, 2026

At the end of the national council meeting held in Ado Ekiti and presided over by the President of the Association, Dr. Olumide Olugbemi-Gabriel, the Council resolved as follows:

1. That the Association would return to site immediately and recommence work on the ongoing hostel accommodation project.
2. Council members generously donated towards the project and appealed to all members of the association to contribute to the actualisation of the project which seems to provide affordable accommodation to AAUA students to curb the exploitation of students by certain members of the host community.
3. The Council also urged branches to remit 40% of annual dues to the national purse as stipulated and agreed.
4. Council reviewed clearance system in Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko and urged the University to revert to the abandoned e-clearance system that makes the process seamless and corruption-free.
