🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE: DISREGARD RUMORS REGARDING UNITY BANK ACCOUNT UPDATES

Dear Kano State Civil Servants,

We have observed a viral message circulating on social media claiming that all Unity Bank customers must visit branches to "activate" new account numbers due to the merger with Providus Bank.

Please be informed: THIS INFORMATION IS FALSE AND MISLEADING.

There is no directive from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) or the Kano State Government mandating workers to change their bank details. Please be guided by the following verified facts:

1. THE MERGER IS REAL, BUT ACCOUNTS ARE UNCHANGED
Unity Bank and Providus Bank have successfully completed their merger to operate as a single entity, ProvidusUnity Bank, effective June 26, 2026. This is a corporate integration managed at the bank's backend.
- Your Account Remains Valid: Your existing account number, BVN, and debit (ATM) card remain 100% active and functional.
- No Manual Activation: You do not need to visit a branch or "activate" a new account number. The systems have been merged automatically by the banks to ensure service continuity.

2. NO KANO STATE GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVE
There is NO official circular from the Kano State Ministry of Finance or the Office of the Head of Service requiring civil servants to change their salary accounts due to this merger.
- Ignore Fake Deadlines: Any message claiming a "15-8-2026" deadline is a fabrication designed to cause panic.
- Salary Security: Recent salary concerns in Kano State—such as the July 2026 technical glitch—are unrelated to the bank merger.

3. HOW TO VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT STATUS
Do not leave your duty posts or crowd bank branches based on unverified rumors. If you have concerns, use only official channels:
- Official App: Log in to your existing Unity Bank mobile app. Any necessary branding updates will occur automatically via the official Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

- Customer Care: Call the official number printed on the back of your ATM card.
- Official Website: Visit www.unitybankng.com. Official notices regarding the merger are posted there, and no such "account activation" notice exists.

Stay informed. Only trust information issued on official Kano State Government letterheads or via verified state media channels.

Signed,
Admin, Kano State Civil Servants (Page & Group)

Your School's Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Philosophy Are Not the Same

One of the most common mistakes many schools make is using the same statement for their:

- Vision
- Mission
- Core Values
- Philosophy

Some schools simply copy one sentence and paste it under all four headings.

But these are four completely different things.

Understanding the difference helps you build a stronger school identity and communicate your purpose more clearly.

Let's break it down.

1️⃣ Vision

Your vision answers one question:

"Where do we want this school to be?"

It is your destination.

It describes the future you are working towards.

Example:

"To become a leading school recognized for academic excellence, innovation, and character development."

Notice...

It speaks about the future.

2️⃣ Mission

Your mission answers:

"What do we do every day to achieve that vision?"

It explains your daily work.

Example:

"We provide quality education through dedicated teachers, effective teaching methods, and a safe learning environment that develops every child academically and morally."

Your mission is about action.

3️⃣ Core Values

Your core values answer:

"What principles guide our decisions and behaviour?"

These are the standards everyone in the school should live by.

Examples include:

✅ Integrity

✅ Excellence

✅ Respect

✅ Discipline

✅ Responsibility

✅ Teamwork

Your values define your culture.

4️⃣ School Philosophy

Your philosophy answers:

"What do we believe about education and children?"

It expresses your educational beliefs.

For example:

"We believe every child has unique abilities and can achieve excellence when provided with the right environment, guidance, and opportunities."

Your philosophy explains why you educate the way you do.

Here's the simplest way to remember it:

Vision = Where we are going.

Mission = What we do.

Core Values = How we behave.

Philosophy = What we believe.

They work together...

But they are not the same.

If your school is using one statement for all four...

It may be time to review them.

Because schools with clarity build stronger cultures, make better decisions, and communicate more effectively with staff, parents, and learners.

Which of these has been the most difficult for your school to define: Vision, Mission, Core Values, philosophy?

FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
PRESS RELEASE

29 April 2026

DATA, INNOVATION AND NATIONAL COLLABORATION DRIVE FG’S PUSH TO RETURN MILLIONS OF OUT-OF-SCHOOL CHILDREN TO LEARNING

The Federal Government has intensified efforts to address Nigeria’s out-of-school children crisis through data-driven reforms, strengthened collaboration, and targeted investments to expand access, improve foundational learning, and ensure every child is reached.

This was highlighted at the 2026 Basic Education in Nigeria Bootcamp in Jos, where stakeholders developed practical solutions to improve access, retention, and learning outcomes.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, emphasised the importance of credible data and learner tracking, noting that effective reform depends on identifying out-of-school children and deploying targeted interventions.

To support this, the Ministry is expanding the Digital National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) and rolling out the Learner Identification Number (LIN). The 2025/2026 Annual School Census has captured over two million learners, while nearly one million out-of-school children have been mapped for reintegration.

The Minister highlighted investments including over ₦106 billion in UBEC grants, ₦22 billion for teacher training benefiting about 978,000 teachers, renovation of over 10,000 classrooms, and distribution of 7.8 million textbooks.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive, equitable, and quality education through sustained investment and coordinated national action.
