*JAMB FINALLY RELEASES 2021 UTME RESULTS*

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB), today released results of candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Saturday, 19th and Tuesday, 22 June 2021.

The board added the result for subsequent days would be released daily.
The board stated these in a statement by its Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Friday morning.

It directed candidates to check their results by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 through the GSM number used by each candidate to obtain profile code and UTME registration with the board and their results would be relayed to them.
The statement reads: “The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat in more than 720 CBT centres for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted between Saturday, 19th and Tuesday, 22 June 2021.

“Each concerned candidate is advised to check his/her result by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 through the GSM number used by each candidate to obtain profile code and UTME registration with the Board and their results would be relayed to them. Result for subsequent days would be released daily.
“The Board notes with satisfaction that the utilisation of NIN (National Identification Number) has helped in curbing examination malpractices as the 2021 UTME has recorded the least incidence of irregularities since the inception of the CBT examinations in Nigeria.

“Nevertheless, the Board would still review all the CCTV footages and other technical gadgets for detection of possible examination misconducts.
“Extremely comparatively few results are being withheld for further investigation.
“In addition, the Board would not hesitate to withdraw the results of any candidate subsequently found to have committed any form of examination misconduct.”

Post UTME is an exam conducted by universities after the UTME (Post means after : so post UTME means after UTME)
JAMB is not an exam but the body which conducts the exam known as UTME.
many mistake UTME for post UTME because they refer to UTME as jamb.

*JAMB announces opening of portal for 2020/2021 admissions*

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the opening of its portal for the institutions to upload names of shortlisted applicants for the 2020/2021 admission.

This was announced by the board's registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, in Abuja on Tuesday, January 5, The Nation reports.

According to the JAMB registrar, all the admission processes will go through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) for approval. JAMB registrar Ish-aq Oloyede announced the opening of portal for the 2020/2021 admissions.

“Take note also that admission is not just for universities. There are polytechnics and colleges of education and except for the closure because of COVID-19, they are not affected by the strike."

*Sale of forms not yet official*

Meanwhile, JAMB said it has not commenced the sale of forms for 2021 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The examination body made this known on Monday, January 4, through a weekly bulletin of the office of the registrar.

JAMB also warned the prospective candidates to be wary of the rumour mongers and fraudsters, adding that the clarification became necessary because of fake news.

The examination board also attributed the delay in the sale of the form to the prevailing COVID-19 crisis in the country.

JAMB, however, disclosed it would conclude arrangements soon on the sale of the form.

Meanwhile, in a related development, JAMB has rewarded the five best performing tertiary institutions in the country with a total sum of N375 million for their outstanding performance.

UPDATE: NECO EXAM STARTS NOVEMBER 9

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the resumption of the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in all states and Abuja, starting from November 9.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the council postponed the examinations indefinitely due to security challenges occasioned by the protests.

The protest against police brutality, staged nationwide, disrupted the conduct of the examinations in some parts of the country.

“Following the return of normalcy in the states and FCT, the examinations will now continue with a new Time-Table from Monday 9th November, 2020 to Saturday 28th November, 2020,” the spokesperson of the exam body, Azeez Sani, disclosed on Monday.

The new schedule will be made available to the general public, schools and candidates from November 4, he added.

“The Time-Table can also be seamlessly downloaded from the NECO official website: www.neco.gov.ng.”

NECO also assured the general public of quality service in the discharge of her statutory responsibilities at all times.

National Examinations Council This is to notify all SSCE-INT centres that the period for 2020 SSCE (Internal) entries of 3rd Year Continuous Assessment (CA) is from 27th August to 10th November 2020.

NEWS: WAEC Result 2020 Release Date: Council Reveals When Candidates Can Check Grade
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2020 results will be released "next week".
Many had expected the results to be released latest by Tuesday, October 27, but WAEC through its official Twitter handle early on Wednesday hinged the non-fulfillment on the protests-caused curfew imposed last week in some parts of Nigeria.
