THE PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
The verb in the present perfect continuous tense is used to represent an action that has started in the
past and still continuing in the present time or has just come to an end. Examples; I have been teaching
since last week. Barbie has been learning driving since last year. Esther has been coming here for five
years now.
CHARACTERISTICS OF PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
It has noun or pronoun, anomalous verbs – ‘has’, ‘have’ plus been, plus present participle

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named sandra. She lives in a small town with her parents and siblings. Sandra had two sisters, charity who was the eldest girl and Grace who was her younger sister. She also had a big brother, Steve who was the first child of the family. Ruth was eleven years old when her father brought his niece, Janet to live with them. Janet's father was the elder brother of Sandra's father and had lost his job. The man was finding it difficult to care for his children. His three brothers decided to take a child each to help him train.
