What are mnemonics?

Mnemonics are memory aids or techniques that help one remember information more easily.

In simple terms, a mnemonic is any trick, pattern, word, phrase, or sentence that makes something easier to recall.

𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀:

This is an example of mnemonics used to remember the coordinating conjunctions (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So)

This is an example of mnemonics used to remember the colours of the rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)

Originally, it referred to an official mark stamped on gold and silver articles at the Goldsmiths’ Hall in London. The mark indicated that the metal had been tested and met the required standard of purity.
