COMMUNICATION COMES IN MANY WAYS
Every child communicates—even when they are not yet using clear words.
A child may communicate through:
👋 Gestures
😊 Facial expressions
🔊 Sounds
👉 Pointing
🖼️ Pictures
🧍 Actions
🧩 Behaviour
🗣️ Words
The goal is not simply to make a child speak. The goal is to help the child find a meaningful and effective way to communicate.
🧠 TODAY’S PRACTICAL TIP
Try using visual and multi-sensory support:
✔️ Use pictures and real objects
✔️ Model the word, sound or gesture
✔️ Give the child enough time to respond
✔️ Acknowledge every attempt to communicate
✔️ Keep communication strategies consistent between home and school
❤️ PARENT & TEACHER REMINDER
Celebrate every attempt to communicate, no matter how small.
A gesture, sound, picture or word can be an important step forward.
Be patient. Be encouraging. Keep creating opportunities for communication.
