When a child is asked a question, the focus is often on getting it right and fast. This can lead to guessing or memorizing instead of real understanding. But thinking is a skill, it takes pausing, observing, and sometimes sitting with not knowing. With instant answers everywhere, especially through AI, children need even more support to develop this skill.

When children learn to think first, their answers carry meaning. They begin to understand, not just repeat. Over time, this builds problem-solving, confidence, and independence, skills that matter far beyond the classroom.

Your thoughts?
Do you notice your child thinking things through or rushing to answer? How do you encourage thinking?

To every mum doing her best each day, thank you. The little things you do, the patience you give, the love you show (even on the hard days) all matter more than you know.

Some days feel easy, some feel long, but your presence, your care, and your consistency are shaping us, your children in beautiful ways.

You are doing important work. And you are appreciated.

Learning comes alive when it engages the senses, when children can see, touch, hear, move, and even smell their way through concepts. Imagine a child tracing letters in sand, clapping out syllables, counting with colorful beads, or acting out a story, these multisensory experiences don’t just make lessons fun, they deepen understanding by connecting abstract ideas to real, tangible experiences.

During the early years, the brain is wired to learn through exploration, so the more senses involved, the stronger the neural connections formed.

This approach supports memory retention, builds confidence, and caters to different learning styles, ensuring that every child finds a way to connect with what they are learning. Ultimately, multisensory learning transforms classrooms into dynamic spaces where curiosity thrives and foundational skills are built with joy and meaning.

From the video, how many senses do you think were engaged for a virtual chocolate?🤩👇✍

If learning never truly ends… what does your current chapter of learning look like?

Are you learning patience?
Are you learning to listen better?
Are you learning a new skill, unlearning an old habit, or relearning confidence in yourself?

And for those of us working with children, especially children with different learning needs, what are they quietly teaching us every day that no textbook ever could?

Children are full of color, imagination, and bold little ideas that can be brought to life with the right environment and support. Today isn’t just about making art; it’s about children thinking freely, making choices, and expressing what they may not yet have the words to say.

Every scribble, splash, and creation reflects confidence growing and creativity unfolding and it is also a reminder that the process matters just as much as the masterpiece.
