COVID-19 has affected the economy and coming together to help one another is important.

We cannot overlook the critical role our teachers played in preparing us for who we are today.

COVID-19 has now presented us with another opportunity to show appreciation to *FLIA & our teachers*.

Remember, most of the staff & teachers have been at home without salaries, with families to cater for, and transportation cost amongst others.

To this effect we are encouraged as old students of FLIA, to intervene and provide succour (however little) to the teachers.

Contribution can be made either in cash or kind or both.

We know its difficult for everyone, but we say Alhamdulilah, knowing that its through helping others, that Allah lifts your status.

Innalillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun. One of our Member in Person of Abdul Malik Abubakar (2004) Lost his dad on Thursday 8th, October 2015. As one of our objective, we will be going to his Family Residence in A*o Drive for Condolence on Saturday, 17th October, 2015 Insha Allah.

CONDOLENCE AND CONSOLING
It is an act of great merit to offer condolences on somebody's death and to console the bereaved family by word and deed. Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud (Radiallahu Anhu) has quoted our beloved Prophet (may Allah eternally bless him) as saying:
"One who condoles with or consoles a troubled man get as much merit as the troubled man gets for his grief"
(Jami' Tirmidhi, Kitab-al-Jana'iz. Hadith 1073)

Please Endeavor to attend. Your Presence is highly expected as the reward of this act awaits us.

Suggested schedule for the Day of Arafah Insha Allah:

1. Sleep early the night before to strengthen yourself for the special day.

2. Wake up before Fajr for suhoor.

3. Make wudoo, while consciously remembering that your sins are being washed away til the last drop of water.

Pray at least 4 rakahs of qiyam and make duaa for your deen & dunya in your sujood. Cry to Allah, showing Him humility & ask Him to give you tawfeeq on this great day, and thank Him for making you of those who would experience this special occasion.

4. Spend some time (10-15 mins at least) making Istighfar before Fajr, to be like the righteous whom Allah described as “seeking forgiveness before dawn.”

5. Repeat after Fajr adhan & make duaa. Pray Fajr. Sit in your prayer place and do your morning adhkar. Make tasbeeh, tahleel, tahmeed, & takbeer. And as the Prophet Muhammad (Sallal laahu alaihi wa sallam) advised, increase in “la ilaha illallah, wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shay’in qadeer.”

6. 15 minutes after sunrise pray 2 rakahs of shurooq. This all amounts to the reward of a complete Hajj & umrah. So do not waste it!

7. If you’re able to stay awake by all means, do so and do not waste a single minute. If you need to sleep, take a nap for an hour with the conscious intention of energizing yourself for the worship of Allah.

8. When you wake up, make wudoo and pray at least 4 rakahs of duha. Then recite lots of Quran and make the dhikr mentioned above in breaks in between. (Make dhikr after Dhuhr as you prepare food or as you do what is absolutely necessary.)

9. After Asr, say the evening adhkar. Then recite Quram again til about an hour before Maghrib. At that point, make LOTS of duaa til Maghrib, while having yaqeen that Allah will answer. (Preparing a duaa list ahead of time helps!) Beg that the day will not come to an end except that Allah has forgiven you all your sins and written you of those He has freed from the Fire.

Don’t forget the Muslims suffering all over the world.

Remember as you break your fast that your duaa at that moment is accepted.

May Allah grant us all tawfeeq on that day.

Alhamdulillah. Another Ramadan is here again. This great association will have another opportunity to continue with its tradition of giving sadaqatuj Jariya during the blessed month of Ramadan. This idea was conceived a few years ago, with FLIA teachers as the target beneficiaries.



The exercises of the previous years were successful, as FLOSA member responded positively by making generous donations, both in cash and kind. Food items such as bags of rice, cartoons of sugar & milk, G/oil and spaghetti constituted a major part of the offerings by members, while handsome cash donations were presented by others.



As we hope most members receive the notification of this exercise, it is our prayer that this year’s outing will surpass those of previous years, to reflect FLOSA’s size & capability as an association with great philanthropic inclination. It is also our intention to cultivate and sustain this effort to be an annual tradition.

The collection of this year’s donation will start on Saturday, 20th June, 2015 to close on Monday, 29th June, 2015. The collection would be in FLIA premises, between 10am to 3pm daily, except for Sundays. The assigned exco members ll be unavailable for collection on Sundays.

Alhamdulillah. Another Ramadan is here again. This great association will have another opportunity to continue with its tradition of giving sadaqatuj Jariya before the commencement of Ramadan fast. This idea was conceived just before the last Ramadan, with FLIA teachers as the target beneficiaries.
The last Ramadan donation was a success, as FLOSA member contributed handsomely to the cause. Although significant number of our members did not receive the information before all the donations were forwarded to the beneficiaries. But the association received generous contributions of over half of a dozen of bags of rice, cartoons of sugar, milk, G/oil and spaghetti, from the few member that had knowledge of the exercise. Significant cash donations were equally received from members.
As we hope most members receive the notification of this exercise, it is our prayer that this year’s outing will reflect FLOSA’s size & capability as an association with great philanthropic inclination. It is also our intention to cultivate and sustain this effort to be an annual tradition.
