EMBRACE DISRUPTION IN HEALTHCARE

We live in an incredibly disruptive age. Technological advances are driving big changes across all industries. It is hard to think of a sector which isn’t having to deal with disruption on some level.
Disruption isn’t always innovative but true innovation that goes beyond incremental improvement is always disruptive-it changes old ways of doing things and compels us to re-think our clinical and business models, processes, services, products, and market space.
Disruption can be a tremendous source of opportunities and new value. It can also be scary and at times it seems easier to bury our heads in the sand rather than face reality. But for those willing to embrace it, disruption can be a powerful propellant of positive change.

The decoding of human genome at the turn of the century marked a no-turning-back moment in the history of science and innovation. Since this land mark achievement, bio-technology has been evolving exponentially so that today the engineering of cells, tissues, and robots have the potential to disrupt not only our business but the entire healthcare space.
New technology is going to increasingly impact how we practice medicine. We must learn how best to adapt to encompass these changes if we are to achieve maximum benefit from them for our selves and our patients. Importantly, while the future hospital will be more advance technologically it will also be more advance on a personal, human and patient-care level.
We need to review our current Healthcare Strategic Business direction in line with current realities and leverage on the full value of business intelligence to gain holistic view of the entire hospital system.
This edition will help us understand the next curve of innovation in healthcare delivery. It explores the creative destruction of the healthcare system, championed by technology and defined by new patient profile. We have researched and interviewed hospital CEOs who are changing and disrupting the healthcare delivery system and generating new opportunities space.
