1. Don’t wait until the night before resumption to get uniforms, books, shoes and other essentials ready.
2. Staying up late throughout the holidays can make the first week of school unnecessarily difficult.
3.Go through the school’s list of required books, stationery, uniforms and other items before shopping.
4.Make sure uniforms still fit and shoes are in good condition. Children grow quickly!
5. If your child needs any routine medical, dental or eye check-up, it’s better to handle it before school gets busy.
6. Don’t focus only on bags and books. Talk to your child about returning to school, new teachers, classmates and any feelings they may have.
7. Start practising school-day routines—waking up early, bathing, dressing, eating breakfast and getting ready on time.
8. Making Resumption Sound Scary
Avoid statements like “School is starting, no more enjoyment!” Instead, help your child look forward to learning, friends and new experiences.
