*🇳🇬 CALL-UP LETTER DROPS THIS MIDNIGHT — 5 THINGS EVERY PCM SHOULD KNOW*

Call-Up Letter drops from this midnight through Monday morning. 🎉

DM for your Medical Fitness Certificate or Medical Report now. Don’t wait until rush hour.

If you’re planning not to sleep tonight, that’s your choice. 😅 It won’t change that Bauchi or Gombe you’ve been posted to (we don’t wish you that). Go and sleep!

If you requested for a Medical Fitness or Medical Report, check your DM, review it for any errors, and sign/stamp it appropriately.

🖐 FIVE THINGS YOU WILL SEE ON YOUR NYSC CALL-UP LETTER

A Call-Up Letter is the official letter NYSC sends to registered Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), inviting them to the National Youth Service Orientation Camp.

1️⃣ State of Deployment

Your Call-Up Letter will show the state where you have been posted for service.

2️⃣ Reporting Date

It will show the date you are expected to report to the Orientation Camp. You can report any day before the swearing-in deadline.

3️⃣ Camp Address

It will show the name and full address of the Orientation Camp where you must report.

Important: Some PCMs may be posted to one state but asked to camp in another due to camp arrangements or overcrowding.

4️⃣ Basic Camp Requirements

The letter contains important instructions and requirements for camp registration.

5️⃣ Your NYSC Details

It will display your Call-Up Number, Batch/Stream, and other personal details.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE

* Read your Call-Up Letter carefully and report to the exact camp address stated on it.
* If NYSC asks you to camp in another state, do not go to the main camp of your state of posting, or you may not be registered.
* Ensure there is no mismatch in your name or date of graduation, as this can delay or prevent camp registration.

📌 REDEPLOYMENT TIP

If you plan to apply for redeployment on medical grounds, make sure you already have your Medical Fitness Certificate and Medical Report before going to camp.

📩 DM NOW for:

* Medical Fitness Certificate.
* Medical Report (for redeployment or leave after camp registration).

Invite other PCMs to join and stay updated.

🇳🇬 NYSC CAMP REGISTRATION ERRORS EVERY PCM MUST AVOID

Read this before travelling to NYSC camp!

Most graduates can’t hide their excitement once the Call-Up Letter is released. But many PCMs have been sent back from camp because of avoidable registration mistakes.

Here are the most common errors and how to avoid them.

📌 1. Name Mismatch or Wrong Name Arrangement

This is one of the biggest reasons PCMs are rejected during registration.

Avoid these mistakes:

* Missing or extra names.
* Spelling errors.
* Wrong surname, first name, or middle name arrangement.

What to do:

* Ensure the name on your Certificate/Statement of Result matches your Call-Up Letter exactly.
* If it’s only a name arrangement issue, use the Name Rearrangement option on your NYSC dashboard.

📌 2. Wrong Date of Graduation

Your graduation date on the Call-Up Letter must match the one on your Certificate/Statement of Result.

Even a one-day difference can stop your registration.

What to do: Contact your school immediately for correction before camp.

NB: DM before going to camp if you’re facing this issue.

📌 3. Going to Camp Without Original Documents

Photocopies alone are not enough.

NYSC officials must sight your original documents before accepting photocopies.

Go with:

* Original documents.
* At least 2–3 photocopies of each document.

Without originals, you won’t be registered.

📌 4. Expired or Invalid Documents

Some documents have expiry dates.

Examples include:

* Statement of Result (where applicable).
* Professional licenses (Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, etc.).
* Medical Fitness/Medical Report.

NB: Medical Fitness and Medical Report should not be more than 3 months old.

📌 5. Missing Required Certifications

For HND Graduates:

* HND Certificate/Statement of Result.
* OND Certificate/Statement of Result.
* Industrial Training (IT) completion letter showing duration.

For Professional Graduates:

- Valid practicing license from the relevant professional body.

Without these, registration may not be completed.

⚠️ OTHER NYSC CAMP REGISTRATION MISTAKES

6. Missing the Registration Deadline

Camp registration lasts 3 days only.

Registration closes 11:59 PM on the third day.

Late arrival means no registration.

Travel early and avoid last-minute movement.

7. Reporting to the Wrong Camp

Always check your latest Call-Up Letter before travelling.

This happens when:

* Your posting changes after reprinting.
* Abuja or Lagos PCMs are redirected to another state’s orientation camp.

Go only to the camp stated on your current Call-Up Letter.

8. Biometric Verification Failure

Your biometric captured during online registration must match the one captured in camp.

If verification fails, registration will not continue.

If you had biometric issues, visit the nearest NYSC Secretariat before camp.

9. Unacceptable Passport Photograph

Your passport photo must meet NYSC requirements.

Avoid:

* Armless tops.
* Indecent clothing.
* Poor-quality or inappropriate photos.

If necessary, update your passport photograph on the NYSC portal before camp.

✅ TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL NYSC CAMP REGISTRATION

* Ensure your name matches on all NYSC documents.
* Correct name arrangement on your dashboard if necessary.
* Confirm your graduation date matches your school records.
* Take both originals and photocopies of all required documents.
* Ensure all documents with expiry dates are still valid.
* HND graduates should go with OND and IT evidence.
* Professional graduates should take their valid license.
* Report to camp within the registration period.
* Recheck your Call-Up Letter before travelling.
* Resolve biometric issues before camp.

🇳🇬 NYSC INFO SERIES

14 FAQs About Bank Account Opening in NYSC Orientation Camp

One of the compulsory stages during NYSC orientation camp registration is opening a bank account for your monthly allowance (Alawee). Here are the answers to the most common questions PCMs ask.

1. Is it compulsory to open a new bank account in NYSC camp?

Answer: Yes. Every Prospective Corps Member (PCM) is required to open a bank account during camp registration for NYSC allowance payments.

2. I already have a bank account. Do I still need to open another one?

Answer: Yes. Even if you already have a bank account, you will still open a new account in camp as directed during NYSC registration.

3. What type of account will be opened?

Answer: It is a regular Savings Account. It is not different from the normal savings account you use for everyday banking.

4. Can I leave camp to open the account?

Answer: No. You are not allowed to leave the orientation camp for this process. Representatives from different banks will be available inside the camp to assist with account opening.

5. Can I open the NYSC account before going to camp?

Answer: No. The account is opened only after you have been cleared during camp registration. Your camp registration documents are part of the requirements.

6. Which bank should I choose?

Answer: NYSC usually assigns banks based on your State Code or registration process. Simply go to the bank assigned to you in camp.

7. Must my BVN name match my NYSC name?

Answer: Yes. Your BVN details should match the name on your NYSC documents. If there is any mismatch, visit the bank linked to your BVN and update it before camp if possible.

Note: If there is a BVN issue, it can still be corrected after camp registration if necessary.

8. What documents are required to open the account?

You will need:

* BVN.
* Passport photographs.
* NYSC clearance/registration documents issued during camp registration.

Ensure your names are consistent across all documents to avoid delays.

9. What if I don’t have a BVN?

Answer: You should get your BVN before going to camp. A valid BVN is required for opening the NYSC allowance account.

10. What if my BVN name doesn’t match my documents?

Answer: Visit the bank where your BVN was registered and request a name update so it matches your NYSC documents.

11. Is receiving NYSC allowance compulsory?

Answer: NYSC pays eligible Corps Members through the bank account opened during camp. Receiving your allowance is part of the service process and your monthly clearance determines your payment.

12. Can I use the NYSC account to receive money from family and friends?

Answer: Yes. The account functions like a normal savings account, so you can receive transfers and carry out regular banking transactions.

13. What if I mistakenly receive double allowance?

Answer: Do not spend it. Report the issue through the appropriate NYSC or bank channel so it can be corrected.

14. What happens to the account after NYSC?

Answer: NYSC will stop paying your monthly allowance after service, but the bank account remains yours and you can continue using it for other transactions.

📌 Important Note for PCMs

Some Corps Members may not be able to access their allowance immediately after opening the account in camp. Don’t panic.

Some banks require you to visit one of their branches after camp to complete account activation or submit additional documents before the account becomes fully functional.
