Today, we'll be sharing a little about an amazing sensorial activity.


In the Montessori world, sensorial and practical life activities are the building blocks of a child's development. These hands-on experiences spark curiosity, foster independence, and lay the groundwork for future success.

Sensorial activities tend to do the following:

- Refine the senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell)
- Develop observation skills and attention to detail
- Enhance vocabulary and descriptive language
Examples: Exploring textures, identifying sounds, and matching colors.

Practical Life Activities:
- Develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
- Encourage independence and self-care
- Foster a sense of responsibility and community
Examples: Pouring water, dressing frames, and setting tables.

Benefits:
- Develops problem-solving skills and critical thinking
- Enhances concentration and focus
- Builds confidence and self-esteem
- Prepares children for real-life skills and independence

‎It's been a super busy week, and here's what it looked like in Grade 4... 📚🔢 Our pupils dove into the world of factors, multiples, and geometry using our Montessori materials!

‎They learned to find factors of a number, compare multiples, and discover the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) using the pegboard. Exploring the names of polygons from 5 to 10 sides, combining triangles to create quadrilaterals, and learning that reversing triangles can form new shapes made math come alive 🤩
