PUBLIC NOTICE

RE-OPENING OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA PORTAL FOR 2026/2027 POST-UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING REGISTRATION

The University of Abuja wishes to inform prospective candidates that the University portal has been re-opened for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening registration.

The portal will remain open until Sunday, 4 October 2026.

The re-opening follows the release of the 2026 NECO results, which will enable affected candidates to complete their admission screening process.

Prospective candidates are advised to take advantage of the extension and complete their registration within the stipulated period.
Candidates are also urged to carefully follow the registration instructions provided on the University portal and ensure that all required information is correctly supplied.

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, today led a delegation of the University on a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

Fawehinmi congratulated the SGF on his service to the nation and briefed him on developments at the University, including infrastructure gaps that require more government support.

He also spoke about plans for the University's first multidisciplinary conference, TASS 2026, scheduled for November 2026, to which the SGF has been invited as Special Guest of Honour.

The SGF expressed appreciation for the visit, commended the University for its developments and accepted the invitation to attend the conference.

‎The University of Abuja has commissioned a Thai Corner at the University Library to promote learning, cultural exchange and academic ties between Nigeria and Thailand.
‎
‎The Corner features physical books and e-books covering Thai history, culture, foreign policy, diplomatic relations, language, tourism and cuisines.
‎
‎Speaking at the commissioning, the Thai Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Thirapath Mongkolnavin, called for deeper academic connections between both countries.
‎
‎The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, in his address said the Corner is a platform for learning, and internationalisation, and that the University and its entire community will be made to patronise it.

The Federal Government has commissioned a 3MW solar-hybrid power plant at the University, providing a major boost to power supply for teaching, research, laboratory services and other important operations on campus.

The project was commissioned by the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Tegbe, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said the intervention would help reduce the dependence of the University on diesel generators and support a more reliable power supply for academic and other activities.

The project was delivered under Phase II of the Federal Government's Energising Education Programme (EEP) by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) through the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP), with support from the World Bank.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, described the project as a direct investment in the University's academic mission and pledged that the institution would ensure its proper maintenance and lasting use.

"The facility is expected to benefit the University's more than 40,000 students and 3,500 staff, while also improving security and creating a more conducive environment for learning and work," he said.
