The Universities Standard Essay Competition-USEC formerly [Universities Science Essay Competition] is an initiative of USEC, a non-profit educational foundation. The focus is in line with the vision 2030 of the United Nations. The Goals include: worldwide Poverty Alleviation, worldwide Hunger Alleviation and food security, provision of quality education for all, gender equality and women empowerme
nt, availability and sustainable management of water for all, provision of clean and affordable energy for all, economic growth and decent employment for all. It is aimed at cultivating original ideas from young people who are encouraged to join the 'all-hands-on-deck' mission of the United Nations (UN) in achieving sustainable social, economic and environmental growth for Africa. These ideas are evaluated by a constitute jury that makes recommendations as to which essay(s) are most adoptable for the Nigerian clime and hence selects those for immediate publication.
