Been doing a lot of thinking lately about what it means to become a better leader in education, and it's definitely a journey! February's got me focused on leveling up my leadership game.

Realizing it's not enough to just keep things running smoothly; we've gotta be looking for fresh ideas and better ways to help our students thrive.

This month, I'm diving into checking out new ways to do *learning*, setting up a mentorship program for our new teachers, and trying to get our community even more involved in what we're doing at school.

Honestly, this whole* becoming* thing has really driven home how important it is to have a clear vision for where we want education to go. And you can't just dream it; you've gotta work at it, learn from what works, and always keep the children and community at the heart of it all.

Reflecting on my entrepreneurial journey over the past two years, I'm filled with gratitude for the growth and experiences I've gained.

The insights from the learning and networking session organised by on Navigating Career Transitions continue to resonate with me, particularly the emphasis on transferable skills, long-term thinking, and the power of networking – even for introverts like me.

As an introvert, I've found that while networking can be challenging, it's essential for building relationships and expanding opportunities. I've learned to focus on quality over quantity, seeking out connections with individuals who align with my values and goals.

Staying focused on my long-term goals has been crucial. Even when faced with setbacks, I've found solace in my introverted nature, allowing me to recharge and gain clarity.

Mentorship has been invaluable, providing guidance and support without overwhelming me. I've appreciated the opportunity to connect with experienced individuals who understand the unique challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. I was particularly fortunate to have met two school owners at the event.

I'm excited to see where my entrepreneurial journey takes me next. With the lessons learned and the relationships built, I'm confident in my ability to continue making a positive impact, even as an introvert.

Fifty years. It's a number that feels both monumental and fleeting. Looking back, I see a tapestry woven with threads of laughter, tears, triumphs, and lessons learned.

There was the young me, brimming with dreams and aspirations, uncertain of the path ahead. There were moments of doubt and fear, times I stumbled and felt lost. But through it all, I learned, I grew, I evolved.

Today, as I stand on the cusp of my 50th year, I feel a deep sense of gratitude. For the love that sustained me, the many friendships that have enriched me, the experiences that shaped me. For the resilience that carried me through challenges, and the unwavering belief in myself that kept me moving forward.

It had not always been easy to see the progress so far, the subtle shifts that have transformed me over time. But today, I celebrate the person I've become, the wisdom I've gained, and the strength I possess. I embrace the unknown that lies ahead, knowing that with each passing year, I don't have any choice but to continue to evolve, to grow, and to discover new chapters in my life story.

So, thank you God for the gift of another year! Today, I own my age and I wear it proudly. I am 50! WooHoo! And I’m praying that this will be the best year ever. I am filled with anticipation of what this next phase of my life will bring and I welcome it all.
