NWSA

The NWSA is the umbrella body for all operators in the potable water supply sub-sector.
The association was registered in 1997 with the main objective of promoting efficient delivery of potable water to all Nigerians by mobilizing and organizing practitioners in the sub-sector and making use of available international best practices as tools for the achievement of our objectives.
We are also concerned with contributing to policy negotiations at the national, regional and international levels for impactful reforms in the water supply sector. The NWSA is equally interested in the promotion of PPP (Public-Private Partnership) for surmounting the huge challenge of shortage of funds for the development of water supply infrastructure.
The Associations has 5 standing committees which drive its activities. They are made up of
1. Scientific and Technical Committee
2. Revenue Generation, Finance & Investment
3. Training and Business Development
4. Young Water Professionals
5. Network of Women Professionals in Water and Sanitation in Nigeria.

The NWSA has in its structure the General Assembly, Executive Committee (EXCO) has Legal Adviser and Audit sub-committee in it wing. EXCO controls the zonal operations and the National Secretariat operates under 3 pillars thus:
1. Zonal Operations:
Under this arrangement, the Association is structured into 6 zones according to the 6 Geo-political zones of Nigeria. Each Zone is headed by a Vice President.
2. The National Secretariat:
This houses the 3 components of the Association namely:
i. Specialized Working Sub-committee,
ii. Administrative Office and
iii. Affiliates WOP-Nigeria
A place where the coordination of all issues and affairs pertaining to the association is done

3. The Forum of CEOs: This is a forum of CEOs of Conventional Water Service providers. Of Urban Water utilities, both public and private to tackle operational challenges through sharing of experiences.

Membership of the association is open to all categories of people involved in the business of production, manufacturing product and provision of potable water.

Presently the NWSA has 22 active state chapters and is pushing hard to establish her full presence in the remaining states.
