BEFORE YOU LABEL THE CHILD, CHECK THE ENVIRONMENT
“This child is difficult…”
But is the child really the problem?
In the classroom/home, behaviour does not happen by chance.
A child’s actions are shaped by:
🔷 Who they are
🔷 And the environment around them
Same child… different environment… different behaviour.
So before we rush to correct or label, let’s pause and ask:
What in this environment is influencing this behaviour?
🔷 Is the task too long?
🔷 Are the instructions clear?
🔷 Does the child need movement or support?
Because sometimes, it’s not about fixing the child…
it’s about adjusting how we teach/parent and the environment we create.

Many times, when a teacher is stressed or overwhelmed, they don’t act from training.
They act according to what they are used to.
And for many teachers, what they were used to is simple:
Control first!
So when flogging is removed, the question becomes:
“What do I do now?”
