Starting Is Easy. Staying Is the Real Work 11/05/2026

IF YOU ARE AN EDUCATOR A , READ THIS

The real challenge in education is not always starting.

It is staying long enough to build trust, depth, and impact.

BEFORE YOU LABEL THE CHILD, CHECK THE ENVIRONMENT

“This child is difficult…”

But is the child really the problem?

In the classroom/home, behaviour does not happen by chance.

A child’s actions are shaped by:
🔷 Who they are
🔷 And the environment around them

Same child… different environment… different behaviour.

So before we rush to correct or label, let’s pause and ask:
What in this environment is influencing this behaviour?

🔷 Is the task too long?
🔷 Are the instructions clear?
🔷 Does the child need movement or support?

Because sometimes, it’s not about fixing the child…
it’s about adjusting how we teach/parent and the environment we create.

“If School Allowed It, I Would Have Flogged Your Child…” 04/05/2026

Many times, when a teacher is stressed or overwhelmed, they don’t act from training.
They act according to what they are used to.

And for many teachers, what they were used to is simple:
Control first!

So when flogging is removed, the question becomes:
“What do I do now?”

“If School Allowed It, I Would Have Flogged Your Child…” A teacher wrote this in a pupil’s communication book: “If not that the school said we shouldn’t flog, I would have punished your child…” Pa...

This World Autism Awareness Month, let’s move beyond awareness to acceptance and action.
--------- --------- --------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------

Awareness is a good start…But it is not enough.

What truly makes a difference is:

🔷 How we teach
🔷 How we respond
🔷 How we support every learner

Because 'every child' deserves a real chance to learn, to grow, and to thrive.

Let this not end in April.

Let it continue in our classrooms, our homes, and our communities.
