ANPA initiative: HELPING BABIES BREATHE

29/03/2019

Helping Babies Breathe in Nigeria. A program to reduce neonatal deaths by teaching birth attendants simple techniques of infant stimulation, suction, bag and mask resuscitation maneuvers in the FIRST MINUTE (the Golden Minute) of life.

The video was made by the ANPA MATERNAL and CHILD HEALTH COMMITTEE of ANPA (Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas).

We are extremely proud to support such an initiative!

The baby is not breathing 11/03/2019

Birth Asphyxia is a huge problem in Nigeria: Like two Jumbo Jets crashing daily in Nigeria. We must do something about it.

The baby is not breathing It’s a boy! It’s a girl! It’s not… It’s not breathing! Nothing shakes the earth more than the sudden realization that a new born baby is not breathing. That the new baby has not taken a breath as it comes out of the womb, often marks the beginning of a mad panic.

This is the MRI scan of a client with severe back pains and difficulty walking. In fact cannot walk! Our challenge is to save his life with the right operation. Remove pain and disability. Its a challenge we gladly accept!

Please do not leave your family member in pain and distress. We can help and we will help no matter the cost. With reductions in cost of surgery and a care plan that's pocket friendly.

No one should be crying in pain wishing for death.

Remember: We have moved from Garki to Wuse 2. A new place with freedom to deliver even better care and greater outcomes for our clients with brain and spine issues. Smiles, good food, comfortable beds and safe surgery come as STANDARD (edited)

When barbers cause paralysis 16/03/2017

A barber in Abuja twisted the neck of a client and caused him temporary paralysis. Why do they do that? Its certainly not necessary. Please share widely to stop this practice.

When barbers cause paralysis I went to the barbing saloon recently to get a haircut. Usually, when I go, I take my own shaving kit with me and so avoid any risk of catching head
