FIGHT IT TO THE LAST

In shadow's grip, where light fears to tread,
Lies a silence, heavy, like chains of lead.
A beast lurks there, in the depths unseen,
Feeding on dreams, on what might have been.

Its whispers echo, a ceaseless drone,
Telling tales of being utterly alone.
Yet within the dark, a faint spark glows,
A stubborn heart that still beats, still knows.

The night may be long, the shadows deep,
But within us all, a light does keep.
A flame, undimmed by the creature’s breath,
A defiance, a challenge to the specter of death.

So we stand, we fight, with all our might,
For even in darkness, there’s a promise of light.
