If you have received an offer to study in the UK, it is advisable to pay your tuition deposit and complete your visa application process as early as possible.

This is because late visa applications can increase the likelihood of additional scrutiny, including a potential credibility interview, and may also increase the risk of visa refusal if you don't submit your application early enough.

Paying your deposit early gives you enough time to complete all the necessary processes and reduce the pressure of last-minute applications.

Start early and give yourself enough time to prepare.

The British Government has announced changes to the UK immigration rules that will increase the amount students from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Morocco and other African countries need to show for their living expenses when applying for a Student visa.

From 30 November 2026, students will need to show:

🔹£1,570 per month(up from £1,529 per month) if studying in London
🔹£1,203 per month(up from £1,171 per month) if studying outside London

For the maximum 9-month period, this means:

🔹£14,130 for London
🔹£10,827 outside London

If you are preparing for the January 2027 intake, we advise you to start your visa process early.

Once you receive your offer letter and have met all the conditions, you should:

☑️Pay your tuition deposit as soon as possible.
☑️Start preparing your Proof of Funds (POF).
☑️Once you receive your CAS, move quickly to your Student visa application.

If you are able to complete your visa application before 30 November 2026, you can avoid the increased maintenance requirement.

Departure checks by UKVI officials have returned to Nigerian airports.

This is to inform UK-bound international students travelling from Nigeria to be prepared for additional pre-departure checks at the airport.

If you’re travelling to the UK for any of the upcoming intakes, make sure you:

🔹Arrive at the airport well in advance of your scheduled departure time.

🔹Carry your passport and UK immigration/eVisa information.

🔹Keep your CAS, offer/admission letter, proof of funds, accommodation details and TB certificate (where applicable) readily accessible in your hand luggage.

🔹Be prepared to clearly answer questions about your course, institution, study plans and financial arrangements. Your answers should be consistent with the information provided in your visa application and supporting documents.

🔹Ensure all documents are current and readily available.

🔹Remain calm and provide clear, accurate answers if additional questions are asked.

You don’t have to panic. Just make sure you have all the required documents with you and are prepared to answer any questions clearly and accurately to minimise avoidable delays or disruption to your travel plans.

Keele University in the UK has announced that applications from Nigeria, Ghana, Pakistan, and Bangladesh will no longer be accepted for the January 2027 intake and future intakes. This also includes UKI applicants for the time being.

Please note:

🔹Applications for January 2027 from these countries will no longer be accepted.

🔹Students who have already submitted applications for January 2027 will be contacted by the university, and any payments made will be refunded.

🔹Students currently waiting for their visa for the September 2026 intake are not affected by this update.

🔹Going forward, applications submitted from the above countries will be rejected.

We understand this may be disappointing, especially for students who have already started their application process. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we manage this change.
