Globally, over 272 million children, adolescents, and youth remain out of school — a number even higher than previously estimated due to rising population growth and crises (UNESCO, 2025). Many of these children face barriers related to poverty, conflict, or limited local access to quality education.

At , we are working directly to close this gap. By reaching vulnerable children who are excluded from formal schooling, we create safe learning spaces, provide basic literacy and numeracy, and empower families with the tools to break cycles of educational exclusion.

Every child in our program brings us closer to achieving SDG 4 – Quality Education for All, ensuring that “knowledge becomes power, information becomes liberation,” as Kofi Annan so powerfully reminded us.

Across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, there’s a huge need for quality education and solutions to meet this demand.

As we mark the International Day of Education today, Street2School believes all children deserve to be in school and is committed to providing access to more accessible, equitable, and inclusive education for all.

Huba has a background in sociology from and is currently pursuing her Master of Management program at the . She enjoys working with children, contributing to educational development initiatives, and is looking to shape the future of education through her Propel Business Project at the .
