Not every research idea should be written the same way. Choosing the right type of academic paper is the first step to communicating your research effectively.
A strong study can be overlooked if presented in the wrong format.
Therefore, it is important to choose the type of academic paper that best suits your research.

2026 International Women’s Day | Give to Gain
This year’s IWD celebration encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration towards women, among women, and humanity at large.
Progress is rarely achieved alone. It grows through support, mentorship, and shared opportunities.
When we give to a woman, we give to the world💗 🌎
When women give, whether through knowledge, guidance, encouragement, or leadership, they create pathways not only for themselves, but for others to grow. And in that process, we all gain.
Let us continue to give our voice and support to the advancement for women and girls by:
🌱 Calling out stereotypes
🌱 Challenging discrimination
🌱Questioning bias
🌱Celebrating women’s achievements
🌱Creating opportunities for the next generation
_Give to Gain._
Happy International Women’s Day💖🎊

Where does the journey truly begin?
One of the biggest mistakes students and early-career researchers make is starting with the idea of publishing such as: “Which journal should I publish in?”
Instead of asking the above question, start with better questions such as:
• What problem am I addressing?
• What gap exists in current knowledge?
• What method best answers my question?
When research is done properly, publication becomes a natural consequence not a struggle.
So before counting how many papers you want to publish or asking “Where can I publish this?”, pause and ask: “What knowledge am I actually contributing?

ACADEMIC RESEARCH - WHAT IS IT?
Many people think academic research means one thing: Write a paper. Publish it. Repeat the cycle.
While publishing is important, and very much needed, it is only the final output, not the research itself.
So, what exactly is academic research?
Academic research is a systematic process of asking meaningful questions, generating new knowledge, and validating existing ideas using evidence-based methods that are transparent and reproducible.
It is guided by:
🖊️clear objectives
🖊️sound methodology
🖊️ethical standards
🖊️and critical thinking.
Without these, a paper is just writing, not research.
Remember
👉 Publishing is the outcome.
👉 Research is the journey.

“Focus: Keep Your Eyes on the Prize."
Distractions will come; that's life. But if you stay laser-focused on your WHY — the reason you set that goal — you'll find the strength to keep pushing.
Set reminders, visualize success, and celebrate small wins. Your destination is waiting, so keep your eyes forward.

“Slip Up? That’s Normal — Just Keep Going."
Don’t be afraid of setbacks. Defaulting or missing a few days doesn't mean you've failed, what matters is resilience.
Successful people don’t avoid mistakes — they recover faster. So, when you stumble, don’t quit. Adjust, refocus, and keep moving forward.
