Hi, I'm Agnes, the founder of Moulded Teens Foundation.

Our last annual conference was held on the 7th of August where we recorded an attendance of over 70 teenage girls. The feedbacks recieved from the attendees and their parents have been amazing to the glory of God

Due to the ongoing examinations, the SS3 students could not attend the conference. Hence, we are putting together a 3 day exclusive camp meeting for them aimed at building strong confident girl with values that will help them make positive, informed and healthy choices as we prepare them for the university.

You see, one of the hardest and regrettable part of parenting is letting your child go into the world of parenting is letting your child go into the world that you are no longer in total control of without adequate preparation at least, as much as you can.

This is what the moulded teens foundation is all about. To partner with the Holy Spirit and collaborate with parents in equipping then with all they need to live as Daniels in their Babylon.

Date is from 28th to 31st October, 2021

Venue will be at the Palms Hotel, Abuja.

Admission is limited to 20 teenage girls who will be selected on 1st come, 1st serve basis.

Praise nurtures your child’s confidence and sense of self.

When a child behaves well and receives praises, they tend to repeat such behaviour, knowing this tip can help parents change difficult behaviours into positive behaviours.

Encouragement can also help your teenager behave well especially when you notice they are less confident than others.

It is easier to notice bad behaviour, but when a parent looks for and praises good behaviour, you’re helping your teenager to think and talk positively of themselves, to feel proud of themselves when they do well.

More than anything, teenagers desire independence, and may break rules in the process.

Do you turn a blind eye and let it slide? Do you discipline strictly? Are you calm while asserting your authority? Do you struggle with punishment or you correct with love?

It is important to say exactly what behaviours you expect and firmly remind them of the consequences to their actions.

When teenagers don’t follow the rules, it is important to remind them why the rules exist.

Calmy, but firmly correct their wrongs, inform them you expect them to make better decisions next time.

We cannot ignore the harm media poses to teenagers.

Media ranging from TV’s, movies, apps, games, and sites such as YouTube can be informative and help teenagers learn, inspire new interests and promote creativity.
They at the same time pose a threat to behaviour, attitudes, speech and self-esteem.

Have you taught your teenager what the media is used for, did introduce them to positive role models?

It is necessary they only consume age-appropriate content.

Select good and informative apps and content.

Look for TV shows that have positive messages, help them develop their interests on media and answer any questions.

Teenagers need to be prepared for changes during puberty.

Knowing that the sudden changes they are experiencing is normal and everyone undergoes it makes puberty less lonely for teenagers.

They should know in clear terms what changes to expect, and how to deal with them.

Blood flow from your va**na? That is menstruation and it happens once monthly.

Tell them that p***c and armpit hair growth is expected, breast and hip development.

Do well to teach her how to use and dispose of pads. Inform her of pains she might experience, prepare him for the deep voice and broad chest that is expected.

This way you prepare their mind and open a channel for further questions.

Be careful not to compare your child with others so as not to affect their self-esteem.

Children are highly observant and easily influenced. Before they are born, they experience you first, they watch you and listen to you. You appear as a standard for them.

So as a parent, how do you act around your teenagers? Do you just tell them how to act and what to do? Or do you practice what you teach and instruct?

If they love football, ask them about their favorite players and find a way to bring lessons to the career of their favorite players.
