Our host, Moyosoluwa Oladaya works as the Global Volunteering Development Officer, at VSO International. She is also the co-founder and, convener of Emandes Social Development Network, which have initiated very high impact projects such as SDG's Connect, Numeracy and Literacy project in IDP camps etc. The Global Access Master Class (GAMc) which is one of her signature pet projects since 2019 is an initiative set up to empower young professionals on how to access, explore and maximize opportunities in the global community.
As a member of the Nigerian Civil Society with over 10 years of experience in community development, project development and management, youth programming and management and volunteering management, she has worked with 15+ Communities in 20 States across Nigeria.
As an international development professional her work in Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) International; is to provide technical advice to 20 VSO country offices in the Global South to support Government processes and practices through the design of policies, frameworks and training on the global volunteer standards such as review and design of volunteering policies in about 6 countries, the SDGs VNR presentation for Nepal in 2020 and ARFSD and HLFP presentation. She works in the engagement and partnership team with the mandate to strengthen and increase VSO partnership portfolio.
Locally, she has managed and worked with over 25 implementing partners, supervised over 40 projects that were delivered at the grassroots by over 500 people, that impacted over 100,000 people directly
In her development carreer path she has worked with:
- Society for Family Health on the Adolescent and Young People living with HIV/AIDs in 2 communities in Kaduna State where she managed a team of 50 field workers. Over 2,000 people benefitted directly from this project.
- Joint Initiative for Development as aexecutive Director,
-Spancity International Talent Enhancement Foundation as organisational Development advisor
- SDG's Festival of Ideas as Director of Partnerships
Amongst many more high impact job roles.
She is a strong advocate of volunteering for Sustainable Development Goals, an international speaker, a seasoned life coach and a passionate mentor. She volunteers with both national and international networks and platforms where she has served in various capacities such as the
- Deputy coordinator for Amnesty International Nigeria Volunteer Network,
- Coordinator, SDGs Thursday,
- Summit Chair, YALI National Summit 2021,
- Head of Programs, YALI National Summit 2022,
- Policy Advisor VSO Nigeria amongst others.
In 2022, she was recognized as one of the 100 most influential young people in Africa by Opportunities Hub and also as one of the top 20 young women in Sustainable Development across the globe. In 2021, she won the UNV Country Award for Nigeria for the Volunteer’s Impact on the government-selected project category, and in 2020, the government institution in charge of volunteering; Nigerian National Volunteer Service (NNVS) recognized her efforts toward promoting volunteering in Nigeria.
Moyosoluwa graduated with Honors in Sociology from the University of Abuja, Nigeria where she was recognized as one of the best three students with outstanding performance in academics. She was also awarded the most outstanding female student of her class. She has a Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro in Nigeria.
