The newly appointed vice-chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has expressed her desire to run an inclusive administration by making every voice count in decision making. Mrs Olatunji-Bello, who spoke with our reporter on the phone shortly after the announcement of her appointment on Thursday, also promised to expand the academic programmes at the university. The new vice-chancellor, who had served the university in various capacities in the past including as an acting vice-chancellor, said the ultimate agenda was to prioritise the workers’ and students’ welfare.

Following her appointment as the ninth substantive vice-chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello is expected to assume duty on Wednesday, September 22. The date coincides with the end of the one-month extension of tenure granted Acting Vice-chancellor Oyedamola Oke on August 21. Mr Oke, who was before his current position a deputy vice-chancellor in charge of administration, was elected acting VC by the university’s Senate on January 11. He filled the vacuum created by the exit of the university’s eighth substantive vice-chancellor, Olanrewaju Fagbohun, whose tenure expired.

Pastor Allegedly Pays Native Doctor To Hold Rain During His Crusade

A Nigerian pastor allegedly solicited the help of the rainmaker (native doctor) to stop rain from falling during a Crusade organized by his church.

The story was shared online by a Twitter user identified as@ Dj_whacky.
Although the names of the church and pastor involved remain undisclosed it was said to have happened in Ozuoba near port Harcourt. He wrote,
" Nothing person no go see for this Port Harcourt Rain. Pastor wan do crusade for Ozuoba, e go pay rain makers to hold rain.
