Most students don’t actually fail Chapter 1 because they can’t write — they fail because their problem statement isn’t clear.
If your reader can’t quickly understand:
• What the real issue is
• Why it matters
• Who it affects
…then the entire research loses direction.
A weak problem statement leads to:
❌ Confusing objectives
❌ Poor research questions
❌ Low academic scores
But here’s the good part — it’s fixable.
A strong problem statement should be:
✔ Clear and specific
✔ Focused on a real issue
✔ Supported by context or evidence
Before you move forward, ask yourself:
“Can someone read this and immediately understand the problem I’m solving?”
If not, that’s where to start.
📌 Fix your problem statement, and the rest of your Chapter 1 becomes easier.
