G # **Why Do I Follow The Science? **
First of all, what is science?
One definition of science is "the **systematic** study of the structure and behavior of the **physical **and **natural **world through **observation**, **experimentation**, and the **testing of theories against the evidence obtained**."
Why is science important to me?
Science is **systematic**. **Variables **are controlled for, as best as possible. Properly studied topics can be **replicated**. Replicated results increase confidence in linking our theories to the evidence.
Science is always **dynamic**. **Science doesn't give us an absolute answer**. It provides us with the **best conclusions available** based on the **information available** in that **specific context**. The more contexts tested, the more we can **expect causation versus correlation**.
I firmly believe in doing what I feel is best for those around me. This involves not only my personal **morals **but with the **science I have learned**. We can always choose to go with **subjective **or **objective **tactics.
Yes, many things carried throughout generations were much later **“discovered”** scientifically proving their benefits. But suppose there is evidence pointing toward a certain result, which has controlled variables, and which has been replicated in a variety of contexts. In that case, I think it'd be in our best interest to keep our opinions aside.
I don't know it all, I never will. But I will always do my best. Let’s follow what's been proven, to the best of our current abilities, humane and effective. Let’s increase our distance from the “this is how it’s always been done” type mindset.
Learn, adapt, and grow. ❤️
