Mutfwang’s Administration Advances Construction of 16km Mangu–Bwai–Mushu Road

The Plateau State Government has commenced construction of the 16-kilometre Mangu–Bwai–Mushu Road, a key road project aimed at improving transportation, connectivity and economic activities across communities in the area.

The project was inspected by the Plateau State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Dr. Cletus Shurkuk, who assessed the progress of construction and the quality of work being executed.

The road project is being undertaken under the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang as part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and enhance connectivity across Plateau State.

2027: Atiku’s Victory Would End Nigeria’s Power-Rotation System — Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has said that an electoral victory for ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 election would bring an end to Nigeria’s informal power-sharing arrangement between the North and South.

Sani made the statement while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he argued that the South should complete an eight-year tenure before power returns to the North.

He said Atiku has the constitutional right to contest the presidency, but urged politicians to consider the principle of power rotation in the interest of fairness, balance and national unity.

According to Sani, power rotation is not provided for in Nigeria’s Constitution, but remains a political arrangement that should be considered to promote peace and stability.
He added that allowing the South to complete eight years in office could make it easier for a northern candidate to seek the presidency in 2031 without facing resistance from the South.

Sani stressed that his position was not intended to prevent Atiku from contesting, noting that the former vice president has every constitutional right to seek the presidency.

“If Atiku wins, that means the end of the power-rotation system in Nigeria,” Sani said.

Security Must Go Hand-in-Hand With Development, Governor Radda Tells Katsina Residents

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has said that sustainable security must be accompanied by community development, stressing that both are essential for lasting peace and progress.

DA PAM DALYOP: REMEMBERING THE LATE GWOM RWEY OF VWANG AND HIS LEGACY IN BEROM CULTURE

JOS SOUTH, PLATEAU STATE — The late Da Pam Dalyop, former Gwom Rwey of Vwang District in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, is being remembered for his role in traditional leadership and the preservation of Berom culture and traditions.

According to the Berom Educational and Cultural Organization (BECO), Da Pam Dalyop was particularly known for his knowledge of Berom traditional symbols and his contribution to their preservation and presentation.

BECO records that he was behind the artistic recreation of the traditional Berom Royal Hat worn by the late Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Dr. Fom Bot, during the 1982 Nzem Berom. The work was reportedly carried out in collaboration with Da Dr. Nga Dangyang.

The organisation described Da Pam Dalyop as a respected source of knowledge on Berom culture and tradition, referring to him as an “encyclopedia on Berom Culture and Tradition.”
Historical records published by BECO state that Da Pam Dalyop became the District Head of Vwang in 1954. The organisation further records that he was born in 1890 and died on 29 June 2015, at the stated age of 125.
His involvement in the 1982 Nzem Berom, particularly in the recreation of the Royal Hat, is cited as part of the historical role played by traditional institutions in preserving Berom cultural identity and symbols of traditional authority.

Da Pam Dalyop’s name therefore remains documented in accounts of Berom traditional leadership, cultural preservation and the history of Nzem Berom.
