The 2026 International Education Pathways Programme brings fifteen international institutions to Lagos so families can have those conversations in person.

The programme is intended for families considering an international school or university pathway for the 2027 or 2028 cycle, especially parents of children in Grades 10, 11 and 12.

Grade 10 gives families time to think carefully about schools abroad before application timelines become tight.

This is a useful stage to understand your child’s academic strengths, interests and readiness, then begin asking practical questions about school type, entry points, pathways, cost and support.

You do not need to have every answer yet. You do need to start the right conversation early enough to make a considered decision for the 2027 or 2028 cycle.

Most of the panic happens in the first six weeks, not on the day of the flight.

Your child lands, settles in, and then half term arrives and the school closes. Or a sports kit is required from one specific supplier in the UK and there is a match on Saturday. Or a fee payment sits in transit for four days because nobody said which route clears fastest from Nigeria.

The pathway your child starts in September decides which universities will look at their application two years later.

A-Levels open Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group.

The IB carries more weight with American and Canadian admissions.

Foundation gets a student in faster when time is short or the timeline slipped.

All three work, they do not work for the same child.

Most families here choose the route first and start thinking about universities halfway through, and by then the list has already narrowed without anyone deciding it should.

Work backwards instead, pick the universities, then pick the route that reaches them.
