AFRICAN MINERALS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (AMDC): JOB OPENING

The Africa Mining Vision was adopted by Heads of State at the February 2009 AU summit following the October 2008 meeting of African Ministers responsible for Mineral Resources Development. It is Africa’s own response to tackling the paradox of great mineral wealth existing side by side with pervasive poverty. The AMV also advocates thinking outside the “mining box”. Accordingly, it’s not just a question of improving mining regimes by making sure that tax revenues from mining are optimized and that the income is well spent – although that is clearly important.

For a holistic response, the African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) was launched in December 2013 to strategically coordinate the implementation of the African Mining Vision (AMV). The AMDC will coordinate activities including the provision of technical support for the implementation of the AMV, identifying gaps and areas of need and potential expertise to address those needs, undertaking and coordinating policy research, undertaking advocacy and information dissemination, monitoring and evaluating activities relating to the implementation of the AMV, and providing a think tank capacity for the AMV and the activities around it.

To this end, the centre in Guinea Conakry has announce its job opening and is calling for applications from qualified Africans for vacancies available in the secretariat. The new leadership, comprising minerals professionals, experts and administrators will lead AMDC operations. Here are some available vacancies you or anyone you know might be interested in:

THE URGENCY OF DIGITAL EDUCATION AS A STRATEGY TO ACCELERATE AFRICA INDUSTRIALIZATION: A CRUCIAL DETERMINANT OF THE AfCFTA TRAJECTORY

Digital transformation requires knowledge and capacity crucial in inspiring deliverable skills to Africans of all sectors in order for the continent to upscale in quality and value.

With digital education, local innovations, technology and a mixture of these skill sets, no doubt will catapult the continent and its peoples to leapfrog into prosperity and reap the overall benefits inherent in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

What is urgent at the moment demands that, African leaders and policymakers should be deliberate in developing a prosperity roadmap targeted at utilizing Africa's raw materials in the design of manufacturing, processing, packaging, value and supply chain strategy to synchronize our progress in stages, enough to ignite innovation and sustainable solutions for our people.

If Africans need urgent transformation, sacrifice is required on the part of stakeholders to collaborate, especially now that the AfCFTA has a commencement date on the countdown, ditto its very importance to boost Africa's economy making us players in the Market.

By all means, Africans are encouraged to throw in their towel, give their bits to jointly solve the challenges of the continent once and for all.

This is POSSIBLE!

Corporate Governance services for public/private companies in Africa today is a fragile balance between shareholders, board members & CEOs.

However, shareholders who are focused on profits, put pressure on boards, who are accountable for operations & profitability.

Boards, in turn, pressure CEOs, who must answer to the board while building their own larger vision & strategy for the future of the company.

In order for this Governance structure to be successful in the long run, it is imperative that boards & CEOs come to understand each other’s roles & how best to work together.

This is one of the many operational services Project will be offering its clients, partners & students!🙏🙌
