The Most Powerful Asset in International Relations has evolved, and modern diplomacy runs on a new currency now.
While power remains the global and well-known currency in international relations, it is often times misunderstood as military or economic strength alone.
And what is this new currency? It is CREDIBILITY.
Credibility here determines:
✓ Who is taken seriously at negotiation tables
✓ Whose statements influence global reactions
✓ Whose institutions shape policy conversations
✓ Whose voice is amplified during global crises
Unlike power, credibility cannot be declared. It is accumulated through consistency, through accuracy, through disciplined communication over time.
Taking a crucial look at the world’s most influential countries, nations, and governments, one thing becomes clear. They all share this unique currency: credibility.
For example, nations like the United States and other global powers may hold significant military and economic strength, but it is their sustained credibility that reinforces their global influence and keeps their voice central in international affairs.
Pinpointing that, in as much as power exists, credibility is what sustains it.
This is why diplomatic training is not just academic; it is reputational engineering at a global scale.
At the African School of Diplomacy and International Relations (ASDIR), we equip future diplomats, policy professionals, international affairs practitioners, and global leaders with the knowledge, competence, and strategic mindset needed to build lasting credibility on the world stage.
Because in today's world, credibility is not just an advantage; it is influence, access, and opportunity.
Interestingly, it can be learned and built upon over time.
So visit www.afsdir.com to begin your journey toward becoming an authoritative diplomat, a statesman or stateswoman equipped with credibility, influence, and global relevance.

Happy International Children’s Day 🌈
Today we celebrate the priceless gift of children, our joy, our future, and our greatest hope. May every child be surrounded with love, care, protection, and opportunities to grow into their fullest potential.
We also pause to pray for children in difficult situations, especially those who have been abducted, and for their teachers. May they be found safe and reunited with their families. May strength and comfort be given to all who are waiting and hoping.
We call on the Nigerian leaders and authorities to act with urgency and commitment toward ensuring the safety, rescue, and protection of every child. A safe childhood is not a privilege, it is a right.
Happy Children’s Day to every child everywhere 💛
