*1. Meaning of WAEC Result SHOWING OUTSTANDING/WITHHELD:*
There is a very high chance that the result will be released.
Outstanding in some subject(s) mostly occur when a student is recorded as present in exams, but the mark on the subject(s) are not concluded. It can also be cause by extra answer sheet. i.e. when not properly attached or some other factors.

*2. Meaning of WAEC Result showing WITHELD:*
This occurs when almost all the candidates in a particular centre had same grade. WAEC will further investigate the result. If truly the candidates engaged in any form of malpractice during the exam, such results would be seized and not released. But if reverse is the case, they would be released.
Chances of release here is slim.

*3. Meaning of WAEC Result showing HELD:*
This is almost the same thing with Witheld. Held result mostly occur when a written remark is made on a candidate answer booklet relating to malpractice and other examination offences.

It can also occur when a particular school or exam center is indicted for malpractice.
After proper investigation and the school is vindicated, there is possibility of WAEC releasing the results.
But once it starts showing CANCELLED, just forget it, the result is dead.

The tragic theme of a colonial rule is introduced at the beginning of the play when Gbanya narrates the dreams he had last night to Yoko on how the Governor humiliated him in the eyes of his people. Gbanya vows to receive and treat the Governor well in order not to incur his wrath. This shows that the setting of the play is connected to a pre-colonial era where Governors were appointed to oversee the activities of African communities. And some of these Governors, representatives of Imperial Majesty tend to overzealously exploit the people but also treat them as sub-humans or humiliate them when the people in the community err against them and that is exactly what Dr. Samuel Rowe, the Governor does to Gbanya when he finds out that the people have not stopped engaging in the war despite his stern warning to desist from such barbaric act. As a punitive measure or punishment, Gbanya the chief of Senehun is humiliated before his people. Rowe orders the soldiers to stretch Gbanya out on the ground. He also fires a shot from his pistol in the air to threaten Lavalie and Ndapi not to retaliate, Rowe takes the rice and cattle Gbanya entertained him with and zoom off.
Moreover, colonial domination also makes the chief and the people, not to have confidence in themselves because they feel and believe that the Governor, the white man is awash with superior and supreme power. That is why even when Rowe sends his Messengers to Moyamba, the people especially the chief treat him well like the Imperial Majesty herself.

Lastly, the people receive a dirty slaps on their faces when the Governor turns against them to gives out a portion of land that belongs to them to the chiefdom of Bo. He sends a message through his messenger stating that the message came from his Highness, the Governor South of Bandajama, the six villages to the north of the Tabe River now belong to the people of the chiefdom of Bo.

The play centers on class struggle in our society. Jimmy comes from a middle class (working class ) background, but has been highly educated. He went to a university but not gainfully employed. He is still stuck running to sweet stall, and he does not feel fully comfortable and hasn’t been accepted into the upper classes. He speaks and uses Jaw breaking words, read newspapers, but he sometimes has to look these words up in a dictionary.

Alison and Jimmy’s relationship is the main meeting point where class struggle unfolds. Alison is from an upper class background very different from Jimmy’s. Both portray the struggle between the two classes in military terms as the two just can’t blend. Jimmy is full of pride because of his education and this makes him alienate, separate and look down on others who are not so educated like himself, Cliff is such a character in the text.

“Caged Bird” is a metaphor or symbol of downtrodden African- Americans and their experiences in the hands of the whites. The caged bird in the poem symbolizes the blacks, who are unduly maltreated and humiliated as result of the color of their skins. They have been dehumanized one way or the other. They are in solitary confinement as they rarely see through the opportunity around them, for their dreams for brighter future are not even guaranteed.

The “Caged bird is symbolical for oppressed Africa-Americans while the “freed bird” represents the whites (oppressors). The animal imagery such as ‘Caged Bird’ projects the picture of African-Americans (blacks) who have been marginalized by the white race. The wings of the caged bird are cut off and feet tied. This represents the frustration, maltreatment and anguish experienced by the blacks. This unsparing nature of the situation underscores the enormity of hopelessness and oppression faced by blacks. The freed bird is also an imagery of the Americans (western world) who unleashed hatred on the African-Americans as a result of their skin color.

He told the that they must put away all false gods and serve God with sincerity. Joshua wrote down the laws of God, put a stone to witness, should they deal falsely with God.

Naboth, the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel near the palace of Ahab the king of Samaria. Ahab wanted this vineyard from Naboth to use for a vegetable garden because it was near his place. It proposed to exchange it for another vineyard or, if Naboth desired, he would settle him with money. Naboth refused both offers. He said to Ahab, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my father.” This statement annoyed Ahab. He lay down on his bed, turned away his face and refused to eat food.

When his wife Jezebel learnt from this, she comforted him and promised that she would surely give him Naboth’s vineyard. The promise, she hoped to accomplish through crime. Jezebel, a wicked and devilish woman, quickly plotted how to destroy Naboth and take his vineyard.

Jezebel wrote a letter in Ahab’s name and sealed it with his seal. In the letter, she directed the elders and the nobles who dwelt in the same city with Naboth to proclaim a fast and set Naboth among the people, with two base flows against him.

The fellows should bring a charge against him saying that he cursed God and the king. The instruction was carried out. Naboth was killed and the people reported back to Jezebel that Naboth was dead. She went to her husband (Ahab) and said: “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive but dead.”

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign. He reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem. He did what was right in the sight of God because he walked in the ways of his grandfather, David. He showed much interest in the things of God. One of his first assignments was the repair and renovation of the temple. It was during his reign that the book of the law was founded. The temple by the priest, Hilkiah. When the book of the law was found in the temple by Hilkiah, the high priest, the book was read to Josiah and when he heard the content, he rents his clothes as a sign of repentance because he knew that they had transgressed. This propelled him to carry out more reforms. Josiah sent Hilkiah, the priest, Saphan, the secretary and others to inquire of the Lord through prophetess Huldah, the wife of Shallim. The prophetess told them of the decision of God to proclaim punishment upon Judah.
For King Josiah, the Lord said that because his heart was penitent and he humbled himself before the Lord when he heard the word, his eyes would not see evil and he would be gathered to his people in peace. King Josiah summoned all the elders of Israel and read to them the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the lord. King Josiah stood in the temple’s pillar and made a covenant to walk with the Lord and keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statues with all his heart and. with all his soul.

(i) He ordered the priest to bring out all the vessels made for Baal and Asherah and burnt them
(ii) He deposed the idolatrous priests whom the Kings of Judea had ordained to burn incense in the high places of the cities of Judea and Jerusalem. He also brought out Asherah from the house of the Lord and burnt it.
(iii) He broke down the houses of the male cult prostitutes. (Cult prostitution was a situation where the idol priest made love with some women with the deceitful belief that the sexual act would cause the god of fertility to make the land fertile)

Saul was a young man, a native of Tarsus. He studied law under Gamaliel, a great teacher. His Roman name was Paul.

Saul had a hardened heart toward the message and followers of Jesus. He positioned himself in extreme hostility to the growing believers in Jesus and the spread of the Gospel message, even if that meant putting the followers of Jesus to death.

Saul played a significant role in the persecution of Christians in Jerusalem and beyond. Stephen was killed under his supervision. After Stephen had been killed, Saul went from house to house to the others in Jerusalem, arresting and dragging apostles out of their homes and taking them to prison. With this, so many believers were killed.

This action made many believers and the rest of the apostles flee Jerusalem. Saul went to the High Priest and demanded a letter of authority permitting him to go to Damascus to arrest the believers.

On the road to Damascus, Saul was converted and called to follow Jesus boldly. He went on to join the mission of the apostles to spread the Gospel of salvation in Jesus. He founded churches, wrote letters, and led a ministry in which many men and women were part of spreading the Gospel and building up the church.

Saul dedicated his life to the great commission, and he devoted his heart to loving the church and winning souls for the kingdom of God. He preached to prison guards while he was in prison, he praised the Lord in all circumstances and continually worked toward keeping lies and heresies from corrupting the growing church.

(i) The boldness and the courage of the Christians then were enhanced by the Holy Spirit.
(ii) The disciples chose to obey God rather than man.
(iii) God is ever ready to accept anybody, regardless of his atrocities, once he has changed and confessed.
