Before you blame a parent, ask yourself are you building a partnership or creating a divide?
As educators, I often feel concerned when I see the constant blame between teachers and parents.
Teachers criticize parents, and sometimes parents misunderstand teachers.
But the truth is we are not enemies, we are partners.
Parents are partners, not problems.
Yes, parents should respect teachers, but respect is mutual.
As teachers, we must be mindful of how we speak especially in front of children.
When we insult a child’s parent, we are not correcting the child; we are planting hurt, disrespect, and confusion in that child’s heart.
And those words don’t end in the classroom they go home.
We must also understand that many parents are not fully informed.
That is why we should educate them too.
When parents trust us, our work becomes easier.
They begin to reinforce at home what we have started in the classroom, creating a stronger support system for the child.
If there is a concern about a child’s behavior, the right approach is not insult or blame but communication, respect, and guidance.
Teaching is more than academics.
It is about building relationships, shaping character, and guiding both children and parents with wisdom and kindness.
Let us choose our words carefully.
Let us correct with respect, not insults.
Let us educate, not condemn.
Because when teachers and parents work together, the child wins. ❤️

Understanding Brain Dominance in Learning
Every child learns differently, and one powerful key to effective teaching is understanding brain dominance.
Some learners are left-brain dominant.
They tend to be logical, structured, and detail oriented.
They enjoy step-by-step instructions, numbers, and clear rules.
Others are right-brain dominant.
These learners are creative, imaginative, and emotional.
They learn better through stories, visuals, movement, and real-life experiences.
But here is the truth many educators miss:
No child is “only left-brained” or “only right-brained.”
Every learner uses both sides of the brain, but one side is usually more dominant.
As educators and parents, our responsibility is not to label children, but to identify their learning strength and adapt our teaching methods accordingly.
When we teach the way a child’s brain naturally processes information:
Learning becomes easier
Confidence increases
Retention improves
Discipline problems reduce
At Niggys Excellence Academy, we believe every child is intelligent just in different ways.
Our role is to discover how they learn best and guide them to succeed.
The goal is not to change the child, but to understand the child.

Literacy is not just about reading and writing…
it is about unlocking a child’s future.
A child who can read confidently can:
✔ Understand the world better
✔ Express thoughts clearly
✔ Learn independently
✔ Build self-confidence
But the truth is, many children are still struggling not because they cannot learn, but because they are not taught the right way.
Literacy development requires patience, the right method, and consistency.
At Niggys Excellence Academy, we believe:
Every child can learn to read when teaching meets their learning style.
We don’t rush children.
We build them step by step.
We make learning meaningful.
Because when a child learns to read…
everything else becomes possible.

Many people think what African classrooms lack is just infrastructure.
But the truth is… what we ignore is deeper.
Our classrooms don’t just need buildings they need intentional teaching.
They need teachers who understand that:
A child learns better when they feel safe
Confidence grows when children are not constantly shouted at
Learning becomes real when it is practical, not just theoretical
Every child has a unique learning pace not “slow” or “dull”
Too often, we focus on covering the syllabus and forget to build the child.
At Niggys Excellence Academy, we believe education is not just about passing exams…
It is about raising confident learners who can think, express themselves, and face the world boldly.
Let’s stop ignoring what truly matters.
Because when we get it right in the classroom,
we get it right in the future.

I had the honor of facilitating a training session for educators focused on:
• Interpersonal relationships
• Effective communication skills
• Commitment to rules and assigned roles for child safety
It was inspiring to see educators who are willing to grow, reflect, and improve.
Strong schools are built by intentional teachers.
At Niggys Excellence Academy, we remain committed to empowering educators for better learning environments.

YOUR CHILD IS NOT A FAILURE…
THEY MAY JUST BE TAUGHT THE WRONG WAY
Every child is different.
Some learn fast by seeing.
Some understand better by hearing.
Others need to touch and practice to truly learn.
But many parents make this mistake
They compare their child with others.
❌ “Why is your mate better than you?”
❌ “You are too slow!”
❌ “You don’t understand anything!”
This does not help the child… it breaks their confidence.
Instead, try this:
✔ Observe how your child learns best
✔ Be patient with their pace
✔ Encourage small progress
✔ Celebrate effort, not just results
A child who is understood will always improve.
Remember:
There are no dull children… only misunderstood learning styles.
Start teaching your child the way they learn best and watch them shine.
Good writers are usually good readers.
Reading books helps children learn new words and understand how to arrange words into meaningful sentences.
When children develop the habit of reading,
it naturally improves their writing skills.
