JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD 04/05/2022

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has directed all candidates who registered for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to start printing their 2022 UTME notification slips commencing from yesterday.

The Director, Information Technology Services, Mr. Fabian Okoro, made the announcement via a statement released yesterday. According to the statement issued by Head, Public Affairs and Protocol of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the 2022 UTME notification slip is available for printing by all candidates who had registered for the 2022 UTME scheduled to hold from Friday, May 6 to 14, 2022.

The Director disclosed that the printing of the slip is compulsory for all candidates, as it enables them to know the venue, date, session and time of their examination.

He said, “All candidates are advised to print slips on time to know the location of their examination centres, date of their scheduled sessions and time of the examination beforehand, especially with the adjustment in examination schedules this year.”

“This would guide them in making necessary arrangements ahead of the exercise as the Board frowns at lateness to its examination, as no excuses would be entertained from any candidates as a stitch in time, saves nine.”

He stated further that “Candidates need not visit any CBT centres for the printing of the notification slip as it can be done at any available internet point, be it private or public. “To print the slip, candidates are to visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng, then click on 2022 UTME slip printing, then insert registration number to print.”

The slip contains the candidates’ important details like registration number, the centre to which they are to sit the examination within their chosen examination town and the expected time to be at the centre.

In a related development, the Board has reiterated that all candidates would be checked into the examination hall using the Biometric Verification Machine (BVM) which is also a register of attendance in line with the Board’s policy of “No biometric verification, no examination.”

According to the statement, candidates are also to note that no examination would be rescheduled for whatever reason. “Therefore, all candidates are advised to prepare ahead and stay close to their examination venues, if possible, they should pay a prior visit to their centres before the date of the examination.

“Candidates are also reminded that the ban on prohibited items is still in force. Therefore, candidates should be careful not to run foul of the law, as necessary sanctions would be meted out to violators of its code of conduct.

“The list of the banned items within the examination hall include but are not limited to: flash drives, smart watches, calculators, recorders, mobile phones, spy reading glasses, jewelleries, among others.”

JAMB Closing Date 2020.
I would also love to say it here again, that the closing date for JAMB registration is 17th of February, 2020. However, banish the thought of registering late, because your center may have filled up, and you have to spend unnecessary money on transport and stress.

Please don’t waste your time, waiting to register on the JAMB registration closing date! It’s better you do it now that late. Although we can’t rule out the fact that the 2020 UTME registration deadline may be extended, it is better not to play with your academic future.

However, the closing date for registration and buying of JAMB form may be extended, but till then, the 17th of February, is still the official JAMB registration closing date for 2020.

NIN IS SUSPENDED FOR 2020 REGISTRATION. CANDIDATES ARE TO ONLY SEND THEIR NAMES TO 55019 TO CREATE PROFILE. NO NEED FOR NIN FOR 2020 REGISTRATION.

11/01/2020

Before the commencement of the JAMB UTME 2020 registration on 13th January, the board has just released more information about the procedure for registration.

JAMB insists that a candidate must have obtained the National Identity Number (NIN) before the commencement of registration. ONLY ONE mobile number can be used by one candidate to register for the exam.

After a candidate has obtained his NIN, assuming it is 1234567890, each candidate will be required to create a profile code through his mobile number by sending an SMS in the format "NIN 1234567890" and send it to 55019.

After sending the SMS, you would receive a confirmation message with your PROFILE CODE, and the full name used to register your NIN. This will be used for pre-registration checking.

The PROFILE CODE is what will be required for you to purchase the 2020 UTME/DE registration e-pin.

WARNINGS:

1. JAMB has warned that you should not give your password to any person, not even JAMB.

2. Do not take register twice. This also means you should not take UTME and DE for the same year. If required, you will be able to upgrade your UTME to DE at no cost.

3. If there is an error during the registration process, only seek correction from JAMB.

4. UTME and DE registration close on the same date, and there will be no extension.

Cost of JAMB for 2020 UTME are as follows;

UTME/DE form is N3,500

Reading text is N500

CBT service charge is N700

Once full information is released by JAMB to commence registration on 13th January 2020, we will certainly update the above pre-information. Get Ready!

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that the sales of JAMB registration form for 2019 UTME will commence on January 10th, 2019. The announcement was made by JAMB’s Registrar Professor Oloyede during a meeting with owners of JAMB Computer Based Test Centres at the University of Lagos.

According to professor Oloyede, the sales of form will start January 10th and last for 6 weeks. Followed by the examination in March. He further disclosed that the board will not allow Cyber Cafe operators to register candidates because they are extorting candidates and overcharging them and also engaging in services that they do not have the capacity to do.

The professor urged all prospective candidates to do their registration and access the board’s major services in any of its 718 accredited centres in the country. He assured that the general elections would not affect the sale of forms, adding that the board had adjusted its examination schedule ahead of the election.

With this announcement, all prospective candidates are urged to kick start their preparation towards the 2019 UTME. For a start, candidates are advised to use the 2019 JAMB Brochure, to confirm the courses they intend to study, requirements and schools that offer such courses. Also, the 2019 JAMB Syllabus will help guide you on the topics you are required to cover for each of the subjects you will be taking in 2019 UTME.

Above all, get the 2019 JAMB CBT Practice Software. These will enable you to cover all JAMB past questions as well as get familiar with the JAMB CBT environment before the exam.

Schools, Institutions, Tutorial Centres, Business Centres & Cafes can equally act as JAMB CBT Agents and Training Centres to help train students for the upcoming exams. For details on how to proceed, please click here.

Prof Oloyede equally revealed that there will be special centres for visually impaired candidates. He added that the board was already considering the introduction of a new technology for smooth conduct of the examination for such candidates.

He finally warned that the board would not tolerate any JAMB-related materials in all the centres, especially question papers, as most often turned out to be fake, thereby duping innocent candidates. He said that JAMB would also not hesitate to blacklist any centre that attempted to undermine the integrity of its examination through infractions.

05/12/2019

As announced by JAMB earlier, registration for 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can only be possible for candidates that have registered and obtained their NINs. This implies that any candidate that has not registered for NIN will not be allowed to register for UTME.

In view of this, we deem it necessary to provide prospective UTME candidates with the guidelines to register and obtain their NIN before the 2020 UTME registration begins as the registration is expected to commence soon. 2020 UTME Candidates are equally advised to start preparing for their exams using the JAMB CBT softwares and JAMB CBT app

NIN Application Guidelines and Requirements for Prospective UTME Candidates
What is NIN?

NIN simply means National Identification Number. It consists of 11 non- intelligible numbers randomly chosen and assigned to an individual after the completion of enrolment into the National Identity Database (NIDB).

Once a NIN is assigned to an individual, it can never be reassigned, given or used by another person – that makes it unique in nature. In the case of the demise of an individual, his/her NIN is retired once a death certificate is presented to the Commission and the individual’s death is established.

The NIN is used to tie all records about an individual in the database and is also used to establish or verify his/her identity. All citizens and legal residents in Nigeria, from age zero (birth) and above are eligible to enrol for their NINs.
