Some children tell a story.
Some children become the story.
This was definitely the second one.
From the very first sentence, the energy was impossible to ignore. The expressions, the confidence, the excitement in her voice, she had the class completely locked in and wanting to hear what came next.
And the beautiful part was that the energy never took away from the diction. Every word came through clearly, making the story even more enjoyable to listen to.
It was one of those moments that reminds you how powerful storytelling can be when confidence, expression, and clear speech come together.

The lesson became more interesting as the pupils explored the world of the furniture man
They identified different tools used in the work, naming them and sharing what they know about how they are used
Little voices went from one answer to another, with some pupils responding quickly and others taking a moment to think before sharing theirs
It was a simple but engaging activity that encouraged them to observe, remember, and express their ideas clearly
The classroom felt a little different during this exercise
Questions were being asked, answers were being given, and the pupils had to think on their feet while keeping the conversation going
As they took turns playing the role of interviewer and interviewee, they learned that a good interview is not just about asking questions, but also about listening, responding, and speaking with confidence
Children feel so many things in a day, excitement, disappointment, joy, surprise, frustration, but putting those feelings into words is a skill on its own
That was the heart of this lesson
The pupils explored different emotions and practiced expressing them clearly, learning that communication is not just about speaking, but also about telling others how you feel
What happened was bigger than a training.
Over 100 educators gathered in one room with a shared decision: to learn, to unlearn, and to relearn.
For hours, teachers from different schools engaged in conversations that challenged familiar practices and opened the door to new possibilities. There was curiosity. There was reflection. There was a genuine willingness to grow.
In a profession where routines can easily become habits, choosing to pause, rethink, and improve is no small thing. It takes humility. It takes courage. It takes a deep commitment to the children entrusted to their care.
To every teacher who participated, thank you. Thank you for showing that excellence in education begins with educators who never stop learning. Your openness to fresh ideas and better methods is what makes meaningful transformation possible.
We are also grateful to CSMT School for providing a welcoming environment that made learning, collaboration, and meaningful engagement possible throughout the session.
As we look ahead to September, we do so with excitement and confidence. More than 100 educators have been equipped, challenged, and prepared for the next phase of this journey.
The training may be over, but the real work begins in the classroom.
And if the energy, commitment, and passion we witnessed are anything to go by, the future looks incredibly promising.
You could tell they weren't just reading for the sake of reading
Every word on the board got their full attention as they carefully worked through the ise and ize endings, making sure they were producing the sounds correctly
What stood out was the intentionality
the pupils were not rushing through the exercise. They were reading with purpose, paying attention to the sounds, and trying to get each word right

Language has a way of giving names to things we already feel but never knew how to hold.

As we step into the sixth month of the year, our prayer is simple: may June bring good news that makes you smile, opportunities that stretch your potential, and strength for every challenge ahead.
May your words carry influence, your work produce results, and your days be filled with peace, favour, and meaningful growth.
Have a blessed and productive June.

1. Drop the "R" at the End of Words
In standard British pronunciation, the letter "R" is often silent when it comes after a vowel and is not followed by another vowel.
Examples: • Car → Cah • Teacher → Teachah • Better → Bettah
This single habit can make a noticeable difference in how British your speech sounds.
2. The "T" Can Become a Soft Sound
Many British speakers, especially in casual speech, soften the letter "T."
Examples: • Water → Wa'uh • Better → Be'uh • City → Ci'y
The "T" is not always fully pronounced. Instead, there is a brief pause in its place.
3. Stretch the "A" Sound
Words containing "a" often have a longer sound in British English.
Examples: • Bath → Bahth • Class → Clahss • Dance → Dahnce
This is one of the most recognizable features of a British accent.
4. Don't Pronounce Every Letter
British speakers frequently reduce sounds to make speech smoother and more natural.
Examples: • Chocolate → Choc-late • Family → Fam-ly • Different → Dif-rent
Natural speech is often more connected than the spelling suggests.
5. The "Y" Sound Appears More Often
When certain words begin with "u" or "ew," British speakers often add a slight "y" sound.
Examples: • Tuesday → Tyoozday • News → Nyooz • Student → Styoodent
This small adjustment instantly adds a British flavour to your pronunciation.
A British accent isn't just about vocabulary. It's hidden in the tiny details most learners never notice.
The silent R, the softened T, the stretched vowels, and the subtle "y" sounds all work together to create that distinctive British rhythm.
Start paying attention to these habits, and you'll begin hearing British English in a completely new way.
