Brief History of the
School
Yewa Secondary School.
Igbogila; The oldest
post-primary
educational institeducational institution
in
Yewa North, formally
known as Egbado High
School, Igbogila, was
founded on
October27th
1956 by the Methodist
Mission of Nigeria,
Egbado Circuit, with an
all embracing support of
the host-town and a
wife spectrum of other
communities in Yewa
North. Both the Egbado
Divisional council and
Egbado Ketu District
Council provided
financial
assist.

In accordance with the
change in the name of
the geographical area in
which the school is
located from Diabem to
Yewa, the school's
name was changed to
Yewa Secondary School
in April 1999 to reflect
the new mime.

The school is situated
on old igua Road on a
land area of 94.8 acres
donated by five families
in Igbogila. It is co-
educational with
boarding facilities
provided from inception.
Normal classes took off
on 1st April, 1957 with
33 students under the
Principalshir of Mr. E.A
Adeyemo, who left in
December of the same
year to found his own
school
