Yes, it can affect your admission. Even if it doesn't affect you during the admission process, it will likely affect you during clearance/screening after gaining admission. The discrepancy in names may raise concerns about the authenticity of your WAEC or JAMB results.

To avoid issues, it's recommended that you correct the mistake and ensure consistency across all your credentials, including your birth certificate, local government identification certificate, first school leaving certificate, and others.

You can correct your JAMB details by:

1.Reach out to CBT centre for the corrections

2. You can visit the WAEC office to make corrections on your name arrangement.

Correctable details include:
- Names
- Passport Photograph
- Gender
- UTME Subjects (closed)
- State/LGA
- Profile
- Choice of Institution/Course

Alternatively, you can obtain a court affidavit of change of name to verify your identity.

The good news is that corrections can be made!

NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

▫️1. Because of the technical & unpredictable nature of the ABU POST UTME, you are expected to work twice harder than you did for the UTME. Don't leave anything to Chance ( unlike the UTME, the ABU POST UTME question setters don't follow any syllabuses)

▫️2. The questions are few, selected from a wide range of topics, making it very difficult for any candidates who isn't vastly prepared to connect through it. You have to study & study through everything possible. You can't Study too much for the POST UTME !.

▫️3. To be admitted into your ORIGINAL Course of Choice, you must aim at having a greater Post Utme Score. Aim at getting ALL the questions Correctly !. YES, YOU CAN !

▫️4. We have seen Candidates who missed university admission, even after having above 300 in the UTME because they under performed in the POST UTME.

▫️5. Students aspiring for MBBS, PHARMACY , LAW, MEG, EEG, CHG, etc in ABU this year MUST go extra mile in preparing for the POST UTME in order to keep the hope of admission alive. Give everything you've got into preparation.
