*STUDENT'S REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL SRC ELECTIONS HOLD TOMORROW*
Fellow Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,
The leadership of the Student's Union under the aegies Leadership of Comr, Sen Adelola Hezekiah Babatunde (EASY) wishes to bring to your attention important details regarding the upcoming Student's Representative Council (SRC) election scheduled for Monday and the Student's Union Executive Council (SUEC) election holding on Wednesday, We are excited about these democratic exercises and encourage all students to actively participate in choosing the next set of leaders to represent you and to be your voice as at when needed.
However, It is important that we address the baseless petitions flying around and Clarifying misconceptions of those who it may concerned.
It has come to our notice that certain baseless petitions have been circulating, aimed at misleading the student populace.
Meanwhile, These petitions allege that the interim SUELECO committee, responsible for conducting the elections, comprises former students of the Polytechnic and therefore should not be a part of the election process. Let us state emphatically that this claim holds no ground.
The current outgoing ND2 and HND2 students, as well as current ND2 and HND2 students, remain legitimate students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic until their final results are officially released.
Therefore, they are fully entitled to participate in the election process, either as voters or part of the election committee. As such, any suggestion that these students are unqualified to serve as the interim SUELECO is completely false.
Also, They claimed of uncertainty of Free, Fair, and Transparent Elections
Another baseless accusation suggests that the elections will not be free and fair due to the appointment of the interim SUELECO Chairman, Mr. Abdul Ganiu Salami. We categorically reject this claim. The Student's Union has taken every necessary measure to ensure that this election is transparent and credible.
We have engaged with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, who have assured us of their presence during the elections to provide security and maintain order and also we have invited the NANS Ogun JCC axis and the NAOSS NATIONAL to come and serve as observers at the process of the election. We want to assure every student that the elections will be free, fair, and devoid of any disruptions. Anyone who attempts to undermine the integrity of the process will be dealt with according to the law.
Moreover in respect with the Constitution which we hold in high esteem Article XIV, Section 3, Subsection (M) of the Student's Union Constitution, which state that any individual who has previously contested in departmental or school elections is not eligible to be part of or lead the Electoral committee, Therefore, we advise Mr. Abdul Ganiu Salami to step down his role as the Interim Sueleco Chairman and One of the floor members should take the position in other to execute free and fair election.
In addition, some have claimed that certain results have not been verified, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the election. As your Student's Union Representative, we want to make it abundantly clear that this claim is also false.
As we are fully aware of the issues faced by some departments in processing results with the CITM, and these concerns have been addressed.
The SUELECO team, in collaboration with department heads, the Counselor, and the SAO of the Polytechnic, has thoroughly reviewed and confirmed all necessary results, allowing those affected students to be screened and participate in the election process.
Lastly, we urge all students to actively participate in the forthcoming elections from the comfort of your location.
The election will be conducted online via the Student's Union portal, ensuring that every eligible student can cast their vote easily and securely. Please make sure you have your login details ready to avoid any issues during the voting process.
This election is a vital opportunity for us to shape the future of student governance, and we encourage everyone to exercise their democratic right responsibly.
Your vote will help elect a new set of leaders who will represent your interests and uphold the values of our great institution.
Above all, Let us remain focused, united, and committed to the progress of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, as we work diligently to ensure a smooth, fair, and transparent election process.
We look forward to your participation in this democratic exercise as we collectively usher in a new chapter for our Student Union.
