“I remember meeting this Yoruba guy at my cousin’s matriculation, he came for his younger brother’s too. He asked for my number, I gave him, and we started chatting. At some point I mentioned my laptop was faulty.
Instead of sending money for repair, he sent enough to get a new one. I was so happy. The next day I got it, then I complained about needing to fix my braids, lashes and nails, he still sent ₦150k. He kept sending money anytime I complained about something.
Two weeks later, we started going out, dates, movies, shopping, everything was going fine.
Then one day he invited me over to his house. Less than two hours after I got there, after giving me wine, ice cream and pizza, this boy told me to cook for both of us. I thought he was joking, but he was serious.
I just picked up my bag and left. When I got home, I blocked him. He kept calling with different numbers asking what he did wrong, but I wasn’t ready to explain to a grown man. What rûbbiish and diisrespect. Yoruba men are never be@ting the allegations”
