The College of Computing Sciences (COLCOMPS), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has officially launched the Career Acceleration Programme (C-CAP), a transformative initiative designed to prepare students for the rapidly changing world of work.
In my welcome address, I described C-CAP as a strategic human capacity development effort carefully designed to prepare students for the rapidly changing world and bridge the gap between academia and industry.”
What makes C-CAP truly remarkable is the power of collaboration.
It is driven by a partnership between the College and our outstanding alumni network, the C2 Tech Mentors (G-18 Team), a group of accomplished computing professionals who are now mentoring, training, and guiding the next generation of tech talent.
Through this year-long mentorship and training journey, students will gain:
- Real-world exposure to industry best practices,
- Guidance on career paths, resume building, and interview readiness,
- Mentorship on tech projects and global standards,
- Hands-on training and certification through the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course
The event also featured remarks from Prof. Egbeyale, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Kehinde. He commended the C2 Tech team for partnering to onboard 85 final-year students for certification training and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to continuous capacity development.
The C2 Tech Mentors expressed appreciation to the College for the collaboration and pledged to continue empowering students through capacity development sessions, industry certification opportunities, mentor–mentee pairings, and SIWES placements in leading IT organisations
We celebrate this milestone as a new chapter in our journey to produce globally competitive graduates who are industry-ready, innovative, and impact-driven.

Last month, I had the privilege of being one of the researchers who got patents for their solutions.
Our animal tracking device got a patent with the support of TETFund and other international partners.
This is a major milestone in showing the improvements that have taken place since we began.
I am grateful to the entire Smart Agro Nigeria team, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and the mentees for this project.
This calls for greater innovation and global advancement as we solve problems.
Thank you for your support and contribution to this.

The past week has been another time of growth, capacity building and exposure to innovative ideas at the TETFair program by Innov8 Hub in Abuja.
It was a time of learning and advancing SmartAgro's solutions to a more globally accepted product that is more efficient than its current form.
We will continue to consider better ideas and the transformation of our products using global ideologies.
Thanks to Dr. Abayomi-Alli Adebayo and Prof. Olubukola Isah for their exceptional ideas that have helped us advance our solutions.

Today, I will be joining other researchers and other members of the academic community at the Annual aIfe Institute of Advance Studies.
As a means to ensure that research opportunities are made available to everyone without bias of age or status, such events are essential.
I will be sharing my experience from writing about and winning research grants.
This will change a lot in the way we make our contributions to global development as African researchers.
I am so excited about what will be shared already.

I had a fulfilling experience at the 3rd validation report and 2-day workshop held at Al-hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria.
As one of the team members from FUNAAB on the EU project, Promoting Digital Solutions for Farmers in Remote Communities to Adapt to Climate Change, I joined other key speakers at the workshop.
I shared how digital solutions can help farmers in rural communities build alternative livelihoods.
With the possible need to grow their income and ensure that they stay profitable, this solution is essential.
While climate change is a major problem, they need to build such capacity for alternative livelihood.
The validation reports from the three institutions (FUNAAB, UAES, and AHU) involved in this project show that digital solutions that are easily adaptable are not just essential but urgent.
It is a delight to be at this workshop alongside a team member from FUNAAB, Dr. Esther Tolorunju.
Be on the look out of the next phase of the project.

We got featured on Punch newspaper.
It demands passion and dedication to make positive contributions even in demanding circumstances.
I am glad at what technology innovation is bringing into the agricultural sector.
Read about another intervention I am contributing my expertise to which is supporting rural farmers.
Climate change: FUNAAB to empower farmers with agricultural app
Professor Adewale Dipeolu of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has said that over 3,000,000 people stand to benefit from an agricultural app that will soon be developed as part of digital technology measures to combat the effects of climate change on agriculture by farmers, especially...

Congratulations to two of my students, who had their convocation yesterday for their Ph.D. degrees (in Computer Science).
Dr. A. M. Mustapha Abiodun and Dr. T. E. Ogunbiyi Abioye Temitope have shown immense attribute of diligence and dedication to have arrived here.
I am grateful to have made my contribution as their major supervisor at Masters and Ph. D.s
I look forward to the awesome wonders they will become.
Anything is possible when you believe.

Today, two of my postgraduate students, Ogunbiyi Abioye Temitope and Abiodun Mustapha defended their Ph.D. thesis.
It was a delight to have supervised these students and guided them efficiently through their research work.
Temitope worked on Modelling Security Risk-Aware Business Processes for the Cloud while Abiodun researched a Cloud-based Business Process Compliance Management System.
They have both proven worthy qualifications for the degrees as they showed their intellectual and technical competencies during the defence.
This is a pleasant step in a good direction for the Department of Computer Science, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
I look forward to more of this at all levels as collaboratively, we can achieve more and make positive contributions to the world.
Thanks to Professor Adeniran Olusola for being a support system to me and my department as well as co-supervising my students.
His immense effort and father figure have aided their academic career progress.
I am grateful to Dr. Abayomi-Alli Adebayo and Dr. F. T. Ibrahalu who these students worked with during their research.
This is only a call to keep doing more.
