Happy international women's day to our amiable women in the house.
You are the backbone of our communities, the pillars of our families, and the driving force behind positive change. Your voices, your stories, and your experiences matter. Keep shining, keep pushing boundaries, and keep demanding the respect and equality you deserve.
As Malala Yousafzai so eloquently puts it, "I raise up my voice—not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard." Today and every day, let's amplify the voices of women and girls around the world, and work together towards a brighter, more inclusive future.

Ash Wednesday is a significant holy day in the Christian calendar, marking the beginning of Lent, a 40-day period of reflection, prayer, and fasting leading up to Easter. Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance, humility, and spiritual renewal ¹ ².
The tradition of Ash Wednesday dates back to the early Christian church, with the exact origin unknown. However, it's believed to have started in the 10th century as a way to prepare for Easter ¹.
During Ash Wednesday services, ashes are blessed and distributed to worshippers, typically in the shape of a cross on the forehead. These ashes are usually made from the palm branches of the previous year's Palm Sunday celebrations ¹ ³. The ashes serve as a poignant reminder of human mortality and the need for repentance, symbolized by the phrase "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return" ¹.
On Ash Wednesday, many Christians fast and abstain from meat, with some denominations having specific fasting rules ¹ ². This period of fasting and reflection is meant to help believers focus on their spiritual journey, seek forgiveness for their sins, and renew their commitment to their faith.
As Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, it's a time for Christians to reflect on their values, priorities, and relationship with God. It's a call to repentance, prayer, and self-reflection, ultimately preparing believers for the joy and celebration of Easter.
