🚨 JUST IN: JAMB Issues Fresh Warning on Illegal Admissions! 🔥📍
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has once again declared that ANY admission offered outside CAPS is ILLEGAL. ⚠️
According to JAMB, every valid admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education must pass through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). Any institution or candidate involved in bypassing this process risks serious consequences.
📌 What JAMB Said:
✅ Admissions not processed through CAPS may NOT be officially recognized
✅ Institutions conducting illegal admissions could face sanctions
✅ Candidates involved risk losing the validity of their admission
✅ JAMB may prosecute anyone linked to such admissions
👨🎓 Important Advice to Candidates:
Before accepting any admission offer, always confirm it on your CAPS portal. If it is not showing on CAPS, be careful! 🚫
⚡ Don’t fall victim to fake or unauthorized admission offers.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has begun sending messages to underage candidates who scored 320 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, inviting them to proceed to the next stage of assessment at their chosen institutions.
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday in response to public enquiries.
“The Board has sent messages to underage candidates who scored 320 and above. They will be invited to the next level of assessment by their institution of choice,” he stated.
In a message sent to a candidate and confirmed by Benjamin, the board said the qualified underage candidate’s details had been forwarded to the chosen institution for admission processing.
The message read, “JAMB hereby notifies you that you have crossed the 80% threshold in the UTME, which is one of the four categories for consideration.
“As a result, your details have been forwarded to your institution of choice, which will contact you for screening and return the result to the Board. You can contact your chosen institution regarding this. Kindly ensure that you upload your O-level results to the JAMB portal.”
The development implements JAMB’s exceptional candidate policy for highly gifted underage applicants who are below the minimum admission age of 16 years.
The board had earlier withheld the results of underage candidates, with affected candidates receiving “No Result Yet” notifications.
Benjamin, in a statement last week, explained that only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to sit for the UTME, stressing that any exception falls under the board’s special or exceptional candidate policy.

CANDIDATES ARE URGED TO RECHECK RESULTS AS JAMB UPDATES STATUS AND WITHDRAW SOME RESULTS
All 2026 UTME candidates who have already checked their results are advised to check again on the JAMB portal and SMS channel due to possible updates in result status.
Note: this isn't for everybody, but some results were reviewed, so you can check if you are affected or not.
Reports show that some candidates who earlier saw released scores now have updated statuses, including withdrawal of results and rescheduling for mop-up examination.
Candidates should not rely on old screenshots or previous result messages. They need to confirm their current status directly from JAMB to avoid wrong information during admission processing.
Candidates are advised to use the official JAMB SMS method by sending RESULT to 55019 using the same phone number used for registration. They should also log in to their JAMB profile to confirm updates.
Frequent checking of email, SMS, and JAMB portal is advised as further instructions may be released.
Now that you are waiting for admission ,
Most students think getting into university is the hard part…
But the real problem starts after admission.
Nobody prepares you for time management, money management, or how to survive campus life.
That’s why many freshers struggle in their first year.
I put together something simple that explains all of this in a beginner-friendly way.
