Speaking and Communication is a basic skill most people learn without much difficulty.... We are born with the inherent ability to communicate and hence we may overlook the complexity of all processes that go into producing the simplest sounds (that is a topic for another day).

Simple as it seems, many struggles with communicating (especially with verbal communication) as a result of varying speech disorders.

With communication being a basic need of man and speaking being a primary way by which we communicate, these speech disorders can cause anxiety; even depression.

Another thing that adds to the challenges these persons face is the isolated nature and/lack of awareness about most of these conditions. This simply means that people are either not understanding, are inconsiderate and sometimes outrightly condescending when dealing with these ones. This has lead to either treating them with pity, mocking their efforts at communicating or excluding or shunning them.

This piece is to serve as a form of introduction to these speech challenges with the aim of creating awareness. It also is aimed at reassuring those with these speech challenges that they are never a barrier to communicate and leaving a normal life.

Let's talk about how you can help next πŸ‘‰πŸΎπŸ‘‰πŸΎ

Laughter is good medicine

The world is riddled with to much problems that people rarely have many reasons to laugh, hence good humor can be invaluable to some.

A good laugh releases a complex cocktail of hormones - chief among which is endorphin which promotes calmness and bonding which helps relieve stress and tension while promoting trust in the speaker.

Hence, it is important that you Find opportunities to insert wholesome humor to your content.

After all, if you no make us happy, wetin you gain? 😁

IMPORTANT NOTE: Just after a good laugh, pause and give your audience time to recollect themselves and refocus before you continue!!

You don't want them missing your main points!!!

Most people fail in their quest to learn new skills not because they don't implement, but because they never truly learnt. The heart and/ the brain weren't stimulated or impacted enough.

When you learn something you believe is worth while, you are genuinely excited to try and implement it or at the very list tell others about it. Even when you fail successively, if you truly believe and love what you learnt, you keep working to succeed.

When you don't see such enthusiasm for what you learn, the learning process had a problem...

So before you take that next course, STOP πŸ›‘, take some time to study 'YOU' in the context of learning;

like I would say:

STUDY YOU, LEARN THE BEST WAY YOU LEARN.... I know you will succeed

Good morning...

Always remember that
"It does no good to dwell on dreams and forget to live"

In a bid to recover what was lost as fast as possible, we make the worse decision possible and loose more.

WHY

1. Most decisions made immediately after a loss are emotionally driven

2. Your mostly not aware of all the fact responsible for your loss (you are never objective)

3. The condition that lead to the loss are most likely still active at that point, thus your in for more loss

4. Even if you don't loose more, be rest assured you won't learn from such experience hence you are likely to repeat it in the future.

Learn to give yourself time to heal and learn from your mistakes.
