EARTHQUAKE IN NIGERIA!!!

We have heard of earthquakes in places like USA and Japan.

But if you think Nigeria is free from earthquakes, then think again.

It was in the afternoon hours of 28th July, 1984 when an earthquake which measured magnitude VI (strong intensity) on the Modified Mercalli intensity scale struck the South Western town of Ijebu Ode in Nigeria.

In fact, the earthquakes were recorded 640 Km away at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
It was reported that furniture were moved in people’s houses, appliances were damaged and some minor damages were recorded.

Due to the lack of investigative equipment in Nigeria and the primitive nature of our Geological activities, the events of the earthquake were not properly documented.

However in more recent years, earth tremors have been reported in or around the Gwagwalada area of Abuja (Nigeria’s capital) .

Mariya Oktyabrskaya was working as a nurse for the Soviet Union army during World War 2.

Her husband was a soldier in the Army but he was killed in battle by the N***s in 1941.
Sadly, Mariya didn't know about her husband's death until two years later.

Saddened by the news of her husband's death, Mariya sold everything she had, bought a military Tank and donated it to the Soviet army.

Then, she asked that the tank be named "fighting girlfriend" and that she should be allowed to drive the tank into battle.

This was a strange request but the Russian government was eager to get extra hands in the battle and so, they approved her request.

Mariya fought her first battle on 21st October 1943. She drove her tank and damaged German machine gun nests. She also killed a large number of German soldiers with her tank.

While the battle was going on, the tank got damaged and Mariya got out of the tank to repair it while under heavy fire.

After her first battle, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and she fought a few more battles for the Soviet Union, while becoming a constant nightmare for the Germans.

On 17th January 1944, Mariya went into battle as usual but it was sadly her last battle.

It so happened that while under heavy fire from the enemy, her tank got damaged and once again she stepped out of her tank to make some repairs.

She finished the repairs but as she was about to head back into the tank, she was hit by fragments of a nearby shell explosion and she lost consciousness.

Mariya remained in coma for 2 months and died on 15th March 1944.

Indeed, she was a hero.

Fela Kuti was a Nigerian musician known for his extreme criticism and ridicule of Nigerian politicians back in his day.

However in 1975, Fela took his ridicule to another strange level when he purchased a donkey and named it "Yakubu".

It was a ridicule targeted at the then head of state, General Yakubu Gowon.

History celebrates Alexander the Great as one of the greatest leaders to ever live.

Yet, when he died in June 323 BC, his aides reported that his body didn't show any signs of decay for Seven whole days!
This event was so strange that some persons began ascribing the characteristics of a god to him.

Yet thousands of years after his death, scientists believe they have solved the mystery behind Alexander's undecayed body.

The most widely accepted theory is that he suffered from a condition called "GUILLAIN-BARRE` SYNDROME".

This condition most likely rendered him paralyzed to the extent that he couldn't even move his fingers, blink or even speak. In fact, the condition apparently lowered his breathing rate that his doctors could no longer detect his breathing.

Back then, doctors didn't check a person's pulse. They simply looked at a patient's breathing and if nothing was noticed, they would declare him dead.

It so happened that Alexander the Great was mistakenly buried while he was still alive!
This explains why his body didn't decay for several days.

This great leader died at the age of 32.

It is a common misconception that sitting close to the TV damages your eyes.

In 2004 when Michael Jackson was in the heat of his child molestation court trials, famous rapper Eminem made a diss track titled "Just lose it".
In the track, Eminem clearly insulted Michael Jackson about his court trials and even made a caricature video of Michael Jackson's fragile nose falling off.

Saddened by the song, Michael Jackson asked Eminem to withdraw the song. He even made an open plea and asked TV channels across the world not to show the song. Only one TV channel listened to his request.

Finally, Jackson had seen enough.
In 2007 his company SONY, bought the publishing company that had produced ALL of Eminem's songs.

Jackson's company, bought Eminem's parent company at the sum of 370 Million US Dollars.

The deal effectively gave Michael Jackson the ownership rights to Eminem's songs along with over 124,000 songs from other artists including Shakira.
This effectively meant that anytime Eminem's music was sold, Michael Jackson was getting paid.

You could as well say that Eminem was working for Michael Jackson until his death.

Our dear Eminem may be called the "King of Rap", but the mighty Michael Jackson wasn't called "King of pop" for nothing.

In 2011, a 17 year old Chinese man named Wang Shangkun sold one of his kidneys to organ harvesters on the black market.

He was paid just 2,520 Pounds in exchange for one kidney.

Then he used the money to buy an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 in order to show off to his friends because his family apparently wasn't rich enough to buy him an iPhone.

He was even quoted as saying: "why do I need a second kidney? One is enough".

Within a short period after the donation, the other remaining Kidney failed.

He is now bedridden for life, and on constant dialysis which his family is still struggling to afford.

The most saddening part of the story is that his precious iPhone 4 is now outdated
