Good day pals. I wish to let you know about something some people are ignorant about. The word ‘about’ is mostly pronounced as /a:baut/ by some people, it is wrong. The right way to pronounce it is /ebaut/. The /e/ there is the weak form of the sound /e/.

I cringe each time I see some people mispronounce certain words. English language is a language that the words therein ought to be pronounced rightly just like we have other languages like Igbo that normally has vowels at the end of every word, and French that the last sounds are normally silent. In English language, some Nigerians mispronounce the word 'Google'. Some pronounce it as /gorgel/ which is wrong. The normal pronunciation for 'Google' should be /gu:gel/. The colon (:) there is for long stretch of the pronunciation while the /e/ is weak form of the sound /e/.
