Department of Electrical Electronic Engineering has produced "Elephant" bulb for lighting homes, offices and factories. The bulb is the first of its kind in Nigeria. It has certain unique feature, it's unbreakable, it is repairable and can be used for upwards of 15years with minimum maintenance.

Rector, Prof. F. Ezionye Eboh is honoured by the African Students Union Parliament.

The African Students Union Parliament (ASUP) has honoured Prof. EZIONYE Eboh for his great achievements in the institution with the ASUP PAN-AFRICAN LEADERSHIP PRIZE FOR EXCELLENCE.
Majority leader of the Students Parliament Comrd. Lanota Chekibe (Senegal) spoke on the need to show and include more Practicals in the academic programmes of the Polytechnic suggested the introduction of such courses as Guidance & Counseling not only in Abia State Polytechnic but also in all institutions in Africa to ensure among other things rebuilding and reorientation.

You may like to know that ASUP is the umbrella body of students in the 54 AU Countries whose core mandate include encouraging cooperation and harmonious coexistence among students of members states.

The group was led by Speaker Hon. Kewul A, Sule (Ghana), Comrd. Etongo Francine (Cameroon), Comrd. Lanota Chekibe (Senegal) Comrd. Smaint M. Solution (South Africa) and Nigerian Coordinator Comrd. Nwankwo Henry (Nigeria).
The Polytechnic Management was also presented an award, somw students of the Department of Mass Communication were present including the Dean of the Division of Stident Affairs, Polytechnic Web Manager and staff of the Public Affairs unit of the Rectory.

Department of Mass Communication Students of AbiaPoly in Capacity Building Workshop.
As part of its corporate goal to enhance the professional growth of students in the field of communication, Vision Africa Radio 104.1 Fm, Umuahia organised a one day media capacity building for students in the Department of Communication. The training attracted seasoned broadcasters and professionals from Canada, United States of America and Nigeria. Students of Mass Communiction, Abia State Polytechnic attended among other institutions in the State.

On saturday May 11, 2019, the trio of Favour Onumonu, Ebola Anita and Kingsley Orji all of 300level in the Department of the Physics & Electronic of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba demonstrated a rare gesture today when they found the lost wallet with huge amount of cash in it. They called a phone number in the wallet and it turned out to be the wallet of the Chief Librarian of the Polytechnic Mr Martins Ndulaka. Here are these kind hearted young students as they return the wallet to the owner. This is sign of greater things to come for them.
