LET’S DISCUSS…..
The Word Navy mean Ship, Merchant mean Commercial and Nigeria mean Country. So Merchant Navy mean Commercial Ship and Nigerian Navy mean Country Ship. Any Personnel who work onboard the Ship/Navy is known as a Ship/Navy Personnel, Seafarer or Ship/Navy Officer. Both Merchant Navy Personnel and Nigerian Navy Personnel are Naval Officer.

Merchant Navy is both National and International, depending on your license. We have Nigerian Merchant Navy (Country Commercial Ship/Nigerian Commercial Ship) and International Merchant Navy (international commercial ship). National License is classified as NCV (Near Coastal Voyage), that is Nigerian Merchant Navy. While International License is classified as FGN (Foreign Going Nation), which is International Merchant Navy.

Merchant Navy/Commercial Ships Controls over 90% of Nigeria Economy and 97% of global economy... Out of 100% Ships we have in the world, Merchant Navy/Ship is 98%... Merchant Navy is called Master of Sea. Nothing go round the world without Merchant Navy. When the entire world was shutdown because of COVID-19, Merchant Navy/Commercial ships were so busy working in order to keep the world moving because they ere essential.

We have fake Merchant Navy and the real Merchant Navy, same way we have fake and real in other agencies. Government can only proscribe fake Merchant Navy and not the real Merchant Navy, because Merchant Navy is a Global Service that's recognized by both National and International law in which the entire world cannot do without. So no government in the entire world can proscribe Merchant Navy Service.

How do Nigeria generate revenue if Merchant Navy/ship don't transport in and out goods(medicals, automobiles, cloths, foods, weapons, raw materials, fuel, everything that human beings need to survive and everything that the country need to survive). How would Nigeria Transport out their crude oil and transport in their refined oil without Merchant Navy/ship? The Sea controls over 95% of Nigeria economy in which Merchant Navy Service handles over 90%. If Nigeria Government Shutdown Merchant Navy service for a day, in the next 20years Nigeria will not recover from the lost...
