EFFECTIVENESS.
Effectiveness is the point target of every role function. Yet it seems not funny that when you consider the level of failures, you must agree that effectiveness is far out of radar.
True, high intelligence is common, imagination abounds, knowledge level tends to be high, yet we seem to witness little correlation between a mans effectiveness and his accumulation of these three resources. Hmmm, brilliant men are surprisingly ineffectual: They fail to realize that brilliant insight is not by itself effective.
Effectiveness is a habit, a complex of practices which are so simple that they are hard to do well. And to be effective in anything is to monitor and practice the scales of effectiveness.
1. Monitor your time where and how you spend it. It tells what you are practicing.
2. Gear your efforts towards results rather than work
3. Build on strengths ( what you can do) and not on weakness ( what you cannot do).
4.Force yourself to face priorities. To apply Pareto 's 20/80 rule.
5. Make good decisions.
After all, being effective is common sense.
