BE MODEST IN SPENDING ON YOUR TRADITIONAL WEDDING, NO GO DEY DO PASS YOURSELF:-

When you attend most traditional weddings in Nigeria, you'll be shocked at the level of recklessness been displayed all in the name of having a traditional wedding.

I can actually ignore those hosted by sons and daughter of top politicians, billionaires and others within the top echelon of the society, they can actually afford it, to them it's an investment and also a time to connect more with their class.

But the ones that annoys and irritates my eyes the most are that of broke, struggling and at best average young couples using their SWEAT & BLOOD to organise lavish traditional weddings, for crying out loud, who are you trying to impress?

I seriously believe that there's often this reckless demon that posses and drives many intending couples to throw caution into the wind to spend senselessly and extravagantly.

The man wants to form ODOGWU to prove to all, especially his in-laws that he's capable, he often lacks prudence and totally bereft of financial intelligence, he's on a silly mission to impress & oppress everyone around,even if it means emptying his account or even borrowing to fund his lavish traditional wedding.

With his senses completely shut down, he feels such reckless spending is the surest way to prove to his woman that he loves her, he's man enough and can go all the way, bro calm down before ruin your pocket.

While the lady is forming ADAORA, she also wants to prove to her village people, her friends and all others on social media that her new hubby is rich enough to host such lavish traditional wedding (she must peppe their eyes)whether most of those frivolities are necessary or not isn't her business.

Her major goal is to shut down her entire community and make her traditional wedding the talk of the town.

In her mind "if she doesn't achieve that na wetin she gain kwanu?

Dozens of canopies has to be littered around her father's compound.

A cooling van has to be stationed around to serve chilled drinks.

A caterer has to be hired from the city to prepare and serve the best of delicacies.

Loud music must be blasting from heavy speakers within the compound, either from a DJ or a live band.

Atleast 10- 15 of her friends would have to wear a*o- ebi made of the most expensive fabrics in the market.

All these are often at the expense of the guy, the average Nigerian lady/bride(80%) comes to the marriage table virtually empty and broke (no insults intended.

It's only wise that we curtail our spending because after the marriage ceremony comes the marriage proper, with it's heavy responsibilities.
